my mary janes ^-^
Feb. 14th, 2004 04:54 pmI bought a new pair today, and some pink spray paint. only problem is i'm not sure which ones to paint. ah, decisions, decisions.
these are the new ones.

and the other ones..

they are very similar, except the former has contrast stitching, a thicker wavy sole and thinner straps and the latter has a toothy sole(oh, I forgot what they are called) and thicker straps. I still want to think it through though.. what do you think?
also I am thinking of adding embellishments like bows ^^

Date: 2004-02-14 05:56 pm (UTC)if you proceed to try to spray paint good luck, and don't forget to give it ample time before drying each coat. Be sure to not over spray, you don't want it to drip. and get some clear spray enamel to cover it all with. This will give the shoes a shinny paten leather looks, and it also prevents some damage.
Though I have to suggest if they are close to real leather, try going to a shoe repair place. They have special leather spray paint that I heard work’s great. I have never tried it myself, but a an anime convention cosplay panel, the people suggested that stuff.
good luck.
as for which shoes, the ones with out the bucket, unless you can take it off. That will be very hard to tape around and why make it more complicated then it needs to be.
oh.. sorry to hear that
Date: 2004-02-15 12:55 am (UTC)thanks for the shoe repair reccommendation. i'll look into that ^^
.. would anyone know if acrylics with a medium texturiser would work?
it sounds iffy, I know..

Date: 2004-02-15 08:27 pm (UTC)If i were you, I would go to a shoe repair store, and talk to the people who work there themselves.
they have a lot of experiences with shoes and will most likely know more then we do here.
I am lucky that there is a very cute little shoe repair place where I take my broken shoes all the time, it is run by a little old man with a thick accent (can't place it....) truly indi and all heart.
because of stores like payless and the sorts, it has gotten cheaper to buy new shoes then repair old ones, but i am SURE there must be at least 1 old fashion shoe repair place in every town... it there isn't I might cry.....

Date: 2004-02-14 10:37 pm (UTC)Since those are black shoes, I don't think it would be a very good idea to spray paint them. Sorry I don't have any alternative ideas, though.
