Does anyone know where to get white platform (or some other funky style) Maryjanes? I see them in lolita pictures fairly often but I've yet to come across a single pair on any website and I don't remember ever seeing them in a store.

Also, I thought maybe you guys might be able to explain this to me.. I was at Target today and in the girls shoes aisle, they had some cute low-heel $10 ivory maryjanes. The girls size 4 was big enough to fit my ladies size 7 foot. This isn't normal, is it..? Do "girls sizes" run differently? I just figured girls sizes 1-5 were smaller than womens sizes 6+. All the girls shoes in this aisle seemed to run the same way. Is this the way it always is?

Thank you!

Woman size 6 is usually the same as girls size 4. About the white shoes, you could get some black or whatever colored shoes, take off the metal parts or cover them with something, and spray paint them. Floral spray paint works great for this.

Matybe children's shoe sizes are wider? I can fit in size 35 (european) if the shoe is wiiiiide, but 38 if it is narrow.

Don't know about sizing, but for the shoes you want, try http://www.electriqueboutique.com . Search for "Mary Janes."

Other than these (http://www.electriqueboutique.com/shop/proddetail.asp?id=1346-W), which look similiar to a pair in a Gothic & Lolita Bible (but they are sold out), I have really only seen these (http://www.hottopic.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&ITEM=309117&RN=130), which aren't platforms. ^_^; Best of luck in your quest!

Ooo, I'd forgotten about those Hot Topic shoes! :D Thanks for the inadvertent reminder; I prefer flat-soled mary-janes. ♡

I am on the same exact shoe quest myself and I wear the same shoe size as you as well! I had totally forgotten about the children's sizing trick! I used to purchase boys' sneakers in a size 5 all the time for my size 7 foot years ago! Now I can do the same with girls' shoes. I only recently realized that 'Hey, I'm petite enough to wear a size 14 in girls! Maybe I should start looking in the girls' section more often!', so hopefully I will be finding some really cute things to wear, what with Easter clothing and spring frilliness coming to the racks in the next couple of weeks.

If you find a cute platform maryjane in white on your own, do please share your source with us as I'd be delighted to know! ^__^

Oh you're lucky.. Here in Europe, at least Sweden, there's no different scales for kids, women and men. The sizing is the same. Exact the same. So you can go to the men's shoes and use your sizing to buy their shoes. But unfortunately it means that the childrens sizes are indeed small, as they usually only go up to size 34-35 and I have a small 38. ;__; I really hate this as childrens clothing and shoes are a lot cuter and funnier than adult dito but they're too small. There's A LOT of very cute dolly shoes but very small too..Blahh. I usually stand and stare at the shoes, irritated and wishing that they would grow bigger to fit my feet!
