Hi! I'm making an EGL dress for vday, and I would like to do the cross ribbon in the front of the dress (tied into a bow at the top). Do you just sew the ribbon to the dress in the criss cross pattern, or do you loop it through something?

You can do either.

If you just sew it on have ribbon or something going down the front to hide where you sew the ribbon to the dress.

If you loop it through something, you can use eyelets or make little loops that you sew onto the dress. It depends on what you fancy. =D

hehe thank you for the suggestions. I haven't actually seen anyone's egl dress up close and i'm trying to imagine how it would be done. lol

There are some reference illustrations of the two different ways in the blue handmade gothic and lolita book. If you have it, it would be good to thumb through for a look. If you want, I might be able to scan my copy. Let me know if you need the pics. =)
