another question, this time about cosmates

I'm going to anime north this year, and I thought for the occasion I'd get myself a new egl dress (up until now I've been making all my lolita outfits). Anyways, after looking around at all the sites on the avantgauche links page. I settled on Cosmates.

So here is my question, have any of you ever ordered from them before? Can you tell me about it? The good? The bad? I realize they're not the best quality out there, but for a nice dress this is my budget, as I'm not rich at all.

Also, I'm not sure which dress I should get, I was wondering if any of you could give me a opinion? I've included a old picture of me if that helps...

The 2nd on I wanted to get but if you are anything abov elike 5'3" or 5'4" I will say it's going to be short. I measured it out and I'm 5'8" and it like reached like a little bit past my crotch lol. My torso isn't long either, my legs are gigantic.

I checked out the measurement and I think it will work. Thanks for pointing out about length though, I'd only though to check and and make sure my waist, bust, hips where all right, I'd forgotten about length ^^

I'm not really lolita.. I'd personally go with #2 but on you I think #3 would be adorable. ♥ You have such long legs, reminds me of anime. ^.^;

number one is pretty nice isn't it? I think its the most extravagent too ^_^ I plan on dressing egl all weekend, I just want to buy myself a special new dress. I hope I see you there too! I'm really looking forward to it this year.

I can never find anything I like to buy, and if I do I'm not alowd to buy it. But if I had the money I would defently go with that one. It is by far the most extravagnet there to me.

Based on previous comments that I've seen, the dresses are fairly high quality and there have been no problems ordering from him. I'd say go for it!

FRom what I've read the cotton garments are nice and won't fall apart, but the synthetic/satin garments ravels like crazy and will be of very bad shape very fast...

I've ordered from him before & he's very good & I highly recomend him! You look really cool in your everyday wear I must say, anyway onto the dresses, I'd say #1 would look really good on you, but thats just one opinion, good luck with deciding which to buy...

First of all I have to say I absolutly love your legwarmers!!! (or are they stockings??)
Well, as for the dresse, I think the first one would suit you! It look very nice in my opinon, but you're the judge! :D

They're leg warmers, I knitted them a couple of years ago. They're great for keeping my legs warm in our evil cold winters. I really like the 1st too. haha, I really really like them all. I'm having a hard time picking just one... thanks for the input though! still up for a meetup at anime north?

I like the look of #1 the best, but (you probably don't want to hear this, sorry ^^;) I'm not sure any of those dresses would be really flattering on you because you're slim. It's a little like a lollipop when girls with long slim legs wear really big and ruffly short dresses. ^^; You look GREAT in your everyday clothes and I think you'd do best to stay with that sleeker silhouette.

I think either of these dresses would look awesome on you. They're lolita in feeling but elegant, and the proportions work well for a slimmer figure.

haha, thats ok, I can understand how you'd think that. I dress egl pretty often though, and I think the trick is for skinny girls not to wear really short skirts (I like mine to go to my knees at least, most of the time). Tights are important as well (stripy tights make my legs look a bit bigger). Plus no heels, just flat maryjanes.

The first one you showed me is pretty, but not really my style. The second one is lovely, and I thought about getting that one too, though I don't really like the high nun neck, I do really like the sleeves (so classy).

My problem is that I'm more into sweet lolita, and egl, when by body type I'd most likely look better in ega. Oh well, I dress to please myself ^_^

Maybe you could find a plain white blouse and sew some lace on to it and sew a simple little pink skirt with a rufffled bottom and make a matching tie. I'm not sure if you want to sew or not ;p
If you're going for a sweet loli look go with #2 and a pair of pink stripped tights.

I love to sew, I've sewn all of my loli outfits to date, it just I wanted to buy something "special" ^_^

I have a outfit just like the first one ^^ most of my outfits are a bit like that (blouse with little loli add ons, like new collers, or lace, and then a simply circle skirt, with lace) So easy to make.

!!number two would be adorable with pink and white stripy thights, to bad I only have black and pink...

I'd say dress #1 would look best on you, because of your colouring and shape. You do realise you have to order the dresses through an eBay seller, because the website doesn't do international orders? (To the best of my knowledge anyway). I've ordered from them before, and was quite happy with what I got for the price... Some of their dresses look a bit cheap, though, so choose carefully.

Most people seem to like number 1 the best. I like it because its a lot more fancy then any of the egl clothing I've made myself to date. It says on the website that they ship internationaly, so thats a bit confusing... either way I'm really looking forward to buying myself something that lovely.

The site definitely says they ship internationally, so they've probably changed their rules. They also have the shipping rates for every item to various countries listed next to the measurements, price, etc. : )

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy at least one of the blouses from there soon, yay. : )

pink is too pale for you and too littleish for your adult (and very lovely ^_^) face

the last one simply isnt right for a person of your height because of the cut.

I like #1 best, but aitreni might be right--the big ruffles could overwhelm you. #2 would look awfully cute with those leg warmers you have on in the picture. ^^

I don't know of any egl stores in toronto, there's some good goth shops though... I live pretty near kicthener and there's delirium there (delirium kawaii (http://www.deliriumclothing.com/kawaii.htm)) sadly last time I went there wasn't that much egl stuff out there... mostly just punk and goth.
