japanese measurement question

Sorry to be a bother, but does anyone know a better translation for "mihaba" than "width of garment". as in.. width WHERE? clearly the width isnt the same all the way down say, a one peice, but I see it listed all the time. does this mean at the waist? at the bust? guidance would be much appreciated from someone who knows about how japanese tend to measure their clothing better than I do. thanks!

Can you give me an example of where you saw this written? It's a little hard to tell without the kanji and out of context...

as for said measurement, on the btssb website its listed for those one pieces that do not list a waist measurement, typically along with shoulder and dress length measurements. if you have any idea about it at all i would really appreciate the input!

Is it mihaba right? I can't find any on my dictionary..
But if it is "width of garment", I think it is the length/width of skirt or something...;

I went and looked some examples at the site, and I'm pretty sure it refers to the widest part of the bust area. For instance, for this rather fitted-bodice jumper (http://www.babyssb.co.jp/order/js/127204.html), the "mihaba" is 86 cm (my under-bust is 70 cm, so assuming the jumper is made for someone bigger than me, and adding on a bit for mammaries, 86 cm sounds reasonable). This dress (http://www.babyssb.co.jp/order/op/127310.html) has a mihaba of only 82 cm, and damned if it doesn't look tight up there. Some blouses (http://www.babyssb.co.jp/order/bl/128401.html), on the other hand, seem to get as roomy as 90-100 cm in mihaba. And skirts don't have mihaba listed at all.

thanks! I feel youve pretty much confirmed my initial suspitions by noticing that skirts do not have mihaba, as some of the people i pop quizzed on this thought it might be width at the bottom of the skirt but then Im sure skirts would have it as well. (I just didnt think to look at them... siiiiilly me)
