hello all.. I am just wondering how many of you use wear slightly egl clothes or have egl hair in daily life? (or just a cute style in general ^-^) i'm always looking for small accessories (i'm just addicted to pretty things in general) that don't stand out, or look too out of the ordinary but haven't had much luck ;_;. can't even find a knee length ish flared skirt. boo. too bad the local stores don't stock emily temple cute.

I tend to dress in a "casual lolita" outfit when I can, although I sold off some of the things I used to wear, so it's getting a bit harder^^;; Putumayo clothes are the best example of casual lolita wear- but really, as a fashion it really is meant to stand out, so there isn't really a way to wear it without sticking out somewhat!

I was just thinking about this!!

To answer your question: well, right now (but only for a few more weeks, YES!) I wear school uniform in daily life. But on weekends when I'm not dressed loli (like when i can't leave my stupid little town), I still wear cute socks and mary janes, put my hair in pigtails with a cute hair accessory, and maybe wear lace in some form.

So, what do all of you wear when you can't/don't want to dress EGL? Completely regular clothes, or just a really toned-down version of EGL?

most of my wardrobe is loli influenced. I wear MJ's most of the time and I'm usually wearing something thats quite loli like tops with puffed sleeves or tops that have lace detail etc. Also I always wear my hair in quite loliesque way my hair is curly and cut into a bob .

I dress mainly gothic style (I don't really consider myself Goth, though ^_^;) especially in the Fall and Winter. I wear skirts almost everyday, they are my staple clothing. I go to a small private school where most students dress really casual, so at least I feel unique. Luckily at my school, everybody respects everyone's individuality as well...

I've had a lot of luck at stores like Forever 21 (cheap CHEAP clothes, so-so quality, and you have to go through racks and racks to find anything good, but i've found some great skirts and shirts there) and sometimes H&M.

Sometimes unique shoes can really make all the difference as well. I bought my BtSSB replicas and cute ruffled platform mary-janes on sale at Torrid.

Once (like many of us Lolitas ^^;) I learn to sew better, hopefully I'll be able to wear more unique clothes.

I wear one pair of my mary janes on a daily basis (they're so comfy! My other mary janes aren't, but they sure are cute), and I have a loli-ish skirt I wear quite often. Other than that, I don't have much for EGL wear because I can't sew and I'm cheap ^^* Not to mention it's often not practical where I live. When it's -20 degrees F outside it doesn't makes more sense to wear pants and a sweater =P I often times go for comfort and body coverage rather than cuteness, although my collection of five Hello Kitty t-shirts makes up for the lack of cuteness sometimes ;)

I honestly can't wait till I get to Japan and have to wear a school uniform ^_^;; You don't have to think about what to wear every day, and I think they solve a lot of problems in schools. I highly doubt my school here in the US will ever have uniforms, sadly enough =/ And there's always the weekends to get dressed up pretty! ^_^

As for my hair, I hardly ever put it up because it's so long it hurts my head to put it up for long periods of time. I <3 my long hair too much to cut it, so I just live with it =P

I wear just black (I´ve mentioned it before)my style goes from EGL to goth to trashy-zombi-esque, to more elegant punk...but always with cute details, I wear a lot of glittery and pink accesories as well and lace and tulle stuff, also sometimes I just wear baggy pants and a tube top :P.
I wear knee high socks everyday, whatever my outfit is, as well as fishnets and lace thicghts or thigths with holes on them...since I´m quite poor I tend to buy loooots of stockings to make new outfits, I have quite a neat collection :D
I wear lace up chunky platform boots, or maryjanes, but I always preffer boots!
I have 3 jackets to wear daily, one hip long black velvet, very plain, another ankle long black leather with pintucks and very wide at the bottom and my favourite one: an EGA jacket, half calf long, mao neck, closed with buckles.
My hair...well, I used to have dyed black waist long wavy hair with bangs, and wear ponytails, pigtails, etc, I had my hair very mana look alike, in fact when I first saw a pic of Mana (I though he was a she) his hairstyle was the exact same as mine. BUT...last january I got rid of my hair and now I have a pretty asimetric haircut, short on right side, longer on left side, it´s very cute, one side is a boy the other a girl ^_^

About standing out...hmmm I always do that...:S I´m kinda used to people pointing at me and even laughing...grrr! what would they know..I dress up everyday even to go to college or to work. I´m not working anymore, but you can make a pretty formal outfit wearing a skirt, mary janes, some cute stripes or lace stockings, a nice shirt and a jacket, maybe not a headress or a not so puffy skirt, but mainly...EGL is always nice.

OH! I last but not least, 90% of my wardrobe is diy, either I made it or I had it made, because in this *EVIL* country is absolutely impossible to find clothes I like, sewing supplies are cheap and good quality tho...

Hey! we could all post a pic of our everyday outfit! What do you think? It would be a nice excuse to know everybody´s face too :) I bet you are all adorable.

Sorry for the long post :S

XOXO $hearts

What I wear normally depends. Most of the time I wear a skirt, either my grey, black and white striped, black and tan pinstriped, black (it's really long too), or purple plaid (i just got it yesterday and I need to mod it for a cosplay but I'll still wear it.) If I do wear pants though they are usually baggy.
Shirts, that's a wide variety. Most of the time I wear one of my dragon t-shirts or a tank top. I also wear blouses sometimes. I always wear a long sleeved shirt or one my fishnet shirts under any of my short sleeved shirts.
Jackets I have 4. The one I wear the most is black and it kinda looks like a straight jacket (lol), another one is grey and it has green sleeves, another one is brown courdery (i know i spelled that wrong), and the last one goes down to just above my knees and it's black.
Shoes, I either wear my lace up boots, my plaid shoes, my "combat shoes", or my mary janes.

And then I always wear my necklaces at once, there are at least 10. And when I go out I put my hair up in some way but when I'm at home I just leave it down.

Right now I'm wearing my mary janes with my grey skirt and a dark red shirt with a grey and navy long sleeved shirt uner it. My hair is down.

Alright, so I just described my whole wardrobe, but that's what I consider my "casual wear" (the only thing I left out were my loli-type dresses.) ^_^

If I take a picture soon, I will put it up. I think that's a good idea.

Well, people call me gothic, but i prefer jrock influenced! I mean i don't consider myself gothic :/
I were black clothes with strange skirts over troussers and belts with metal and all kind of shirts ^^;
I wear a hood with kitty ears all the time, and also i wear a lot of makeup (goth like??)

I always dress like that, if it's summer and I feel like it i'll wear a petticoat (and it amuses my co-workers like hell ^^;; )
If i buy lolita/egl/punkish egl clothes i'll wear them at home, at work and so on :) I don't really have any casual clothes ^^;;

hm....

i have a pair of EGA earrings, and i have some loose lace i often wear on my neck and my wrists. nothing super EGL/EGA. no clothes, either. even though i could throw together my black pallazzo pants and a white button up shirt to make a decent EGA look.....

My current job is teaching little kids, so I can't wear skirts, and my clothes go through so much wear and tear, I don't even want to wear anything nice to work, like an EGL-brand T-shirt. It's so frustrating having all these cute clothes I can't wear, sometimes I change into a skirt or something just to go to the supermarket after I come home. I've worn some cute girly outfits around town on weekends, but I only wear my floofy skirt and petticoat when I'm going into Tokyo (and even then, I feel weird outside of Ikebukuro/Shinjuku/Harajuku/Shibuya).

It's a matter of practicality, not a dress code. I have to run and stretch and jump around with the kids, and you just know someone would lift or crawl under my skirt if I wore one. And I don't have it in my wardrobe to do the skirt-over-jeans thing.
