I know this has been asked a bazillion times, but please help me out! I am planning to do a speech on Gothic Lolita, and my teacher said I need at least TWO printed (non-internet) source. I only has the one from Vogue that is vaguely suitable, so does anyone know of any other English magazines that has talked about it?
Thanks a lot, and if this is inappropiate feel free to delete it!

Couldn't you use the Gothic & Lolita Bibles themselves as sources? If you can't read them, I'm sure you could get small bits of them translated by someone around here.

There was an Animerica that did a TINY something on it a while back, but I never read it O_o so I don't know how useful it would be... all i remember is that Witch Hunter Robin was on the cover *dies*

New Grave, a goth magazine, has a few articles pertaining to EGL, as well as an interview with Alice Auaa clothing brand as well.

Good luck!

Gothic beauty has one (issue 6 is sticking in my head, but that's not likely to be right, though there is a message board accessible through the site), and someone I think posted a link from CNN or some such recently with a snippet about Gl. It was more along the lines of the 80's are back and some fashions shouldn't be repeated, and tehn there was a line about GL dresses.
Would you be able to interview someone as a source? say, someone who had been to Japan and seen GL firsthand, a designer (Batty comes to mind, she seems super nice and posts here from time to time), etc?
interviews hgave always been in my experience a good way to go. They have to be cited differently than printed works, and shows you've got initiative.
You can also fudge it a little, just because you can't read the G&L bible doesn't mean they're not useful. They provide a good visual overview of the style for instance.

It's shitty that you can't use Internet sources. I know of an online magazine which did a wonderful article on EGL. Le sigh.

Good luck, dahling!
