hiya loli-chans. just srfing through the web for egl-related things and came across this little online store:

Le Jardin des Filles

okay...layout-wise it's really easy to navigate and the web design is really nice and pretty. BUT....products-wise there really isn't all that much in the store yet. most of the things that he/she sells are from their cafepress store (which isn't bad...his/her graphics are really cute, kinda tim burton-esque! =^.^= ). and it looks like it's more of a "one of a kind" kind of store.

anyway... i'm posting this just in case some of you lolis might be interested in her acessories and stuff. what i would like to see more in this store is for the person to develop more egl drawings and actual clothing. who wouldn't? =^o^= their drawing style is nice and plus some of their jewelry has definite potential. i just hope this store evolves and produces more items than they currently have.

p.s. don't you wish there were more accessory shops out there that catered purely to egls? *sigh* -.-;

oh...and here's another small egl accessory shop:

Lolis & Potts (kind of expensive given the quality of work (imo anyway), but they have some really kawaii headdress ideas... ^__^)

yesh from the pictures it doesnt look like the materials would cost that much. but you never know. i buy this one kind of lace that 10 dollars a yard. needless to say i wont be making any dresses with it, could you just imagine how expensive it would be? haha.

You know, I'm really interested in what people think about the custom online stores like these after my last post and the comments about Rose and Thorn (http://www.rosethorn.net). Maybe this should be a regular feature...?

I just got my Rose & Thorn Dress & its not too bad, its not brilliant, but beggars can't be choosers, right! I'm in the UK & trying to get anything Japanese related that fits is a nightmare!

Maybe there's should be a post that gives some kind of blurb on how each site performs or something, that would be usefull!

That's really weird. I've never had any problems navigating Crosses and Petticoats. But then I'm on a PC. Maybe you should drop a line to the owners and see if you can figure out the problem? I doubt they'd mind making the site more Mac friendly.

I had that problem with Crosses while using Explorer, but in Safari there are no problems.

1) Thank you for the new links. I haven't been able to find any "new" American lolita stores for a while.

2) I think that some people include "labor" costs in their fees for dresses. This is understandable, especially if it is a particularly high quality product. However, I don't think that the headdresses shown are all that nice looking, and certainly not worth the prices set for them. Bu the accessories look very nice and reasonable.

IMO, and remember this is just my opinion.... I don't like any Western EGL shops out there. The quality is terrible and I just don't like how things look. Too many times people think because they slap a bow on something it's suddendly Gothic & Lolita and they can make a lot of money off of it. I'd rather save my money to buy something from Japan or make something myself. I know I'm picky -_-;

i know what you mean. especially some ebay sellers who don't know squat about the fashion! :shudders: but let's not talk about that, ne? =^.^= i like some shops though. like exquisite lass for everyday loli clothing...well made, customized, and the toned down version of the fashion. and delirium kawaii for cute headpieces! i don't know, even though i'd like to buy authentic stuff from japan, my body type just won't allow it (and i'm too lazy to go on a diet, lol! ^o^). besides making my own things, exquisite lass is the closest i'm gonna ever get, ya know? ^__^
