I see you are from Chicago, have you considered coming to any of the EGL events posted here from time to time. There's one coming up in Feb. on the 21st. A trip to Mitsuwa and karaoke.

Okay, I think I finally got it working...

But unless I'm looking at the wrong thing, I only see about two or three things that are even remotely EGL. :\ All that fabulous corsetry and the garters dangling from everywhere was nice to see, though.

yeh i noticed a quite a few major fashion designers with eglesq things. Pretty kool, like how the illustrated cover of bible 6, the top shes wearing that one designers (name i forget) top. I love how its can be intermingled with the Big Names. I like to do that too so yeh.

Gaultier, one of the world's foremost couturiers, is getting bagged in the EGL community?! *lol* This is funny... almost as funny as when someone accused Tom Ford (for Yves Saint Laurent) of ripping off the Gothic & Lolita Bible cover.


Thanks for the link. I don't see the EGL influences that you're hinting at but it's always nice to view high fashion.

You're right. "Bagging" wasn't the right word but you would think in a fashion community that the general sentiment wouldn't be so insular.

I don't see any EGL influences at all in the clothing. o_o; Really nothing. There's a few corsets but I don't think corsets are EGL (I do own one and it's even by one of the brands in the Bible but I don't think it's a loli item) and anyway Gaultier's been doing that for years... Gaultier did the infamous corsets Madonna wore in the very early '90s.

Some of the accessories are very very EGL though. Gaultier and Vivienne Westwood have been making EGL-suitable accessories for a long time and their bags/etc are much loved.

Vivienne's stuff gives me shivers. Her designs, long before the advent of Japanese lolita fashion, have oozed Victorian aristocracy. *_* I desperately want those Westwood wooden heel Mary Janes that were popularized in the early G&L Bibles; I also wouldn't mind one of her lovely leather or plaid handbags.... Ack, a fashion tangent.

Anyway, I still envy your lovely JPG bag. The bag I wanted was still at O1ONE a couple of weeks ago but again, I couldn't bring myself to buy it!
