Why does everybody post their E-bay auctions? They may be EGL/EGA (able), but why post them? You have turned this community into a "Look at what I have for sale" community.
I hoped this community would be for sharing toughts/tips/music/passions/obsessions/tea..
Though.. now it is more of a place to promote your auctions.. that makes me sad..

i dont mind them

but if it is a problem, maybe an egl selling community could be set up?^^

i agree. i don't think it's gotten -that- bad, and finding Loli clothes is pretty difficult on this side of the ocean, but if it does become a problem, an egl-auction community would be the way to go ^_^

I think that's a good idea, like the fruits comm, has a fruitsauction community. -nod-

I think they are ok if they are egl clothing and etc. But I see a lot of crappy looking "Western Loli" stuff.

I've only posted one auction for shoes that were previously mentioned in another post, and I think definitley fall into the EGL catagory. I didn't want to, but I'm not really sure of any other methods of promoting an auction to this subculture. I figured if someone didn't feel it was appropriate they would let me know and I would've deleted the post.

I agree so much with you. I observed this community for quite awhile before I actually got a lj, and I think that the auction posts are nowhere near as bad as they used to be. Auctions that are actually related to EGL (or EGA, for that matter), can be extremely helpful, for the reasons you listed. Ebay can be a big and scary place sometimes in terms of finding something useful. ~

I think it's ok since it allows people to show off a little... and it's hard to find EGL/EGA clothes even on eBay sometimes...

I know that I post auctions, but only when I feel they are honestly appropriate. I don't have any problem seeing auctions on this list because as was mentioned before, it's hard to find the right kind of stuff in America.

I hoped this community would be for sharing toughts/tips/music/passions/obsessions/tea..
Actually, auction postings that are appropriate to the egl theme are basically sharing tips... tips on where to find cool loli clothes. And I would say that the auction postings have been pretty infrequent lately. And people do post all the time about where to find things so it seems logical to post auctions.

I think it's ok as long as they don't get out of hands, ya know~? It's just hard enough to find purty loli clothes here. And this community is about sharing too~ As long as it's abiyt egk I am all for it~ ^x^

I think the real problem is that most of the stuff posted here isn't actually EGL at all, which uglies up this community. If everyone only posted proper items, then it would just be helping people find things to buy so they don't have to go looking for it all the time...

I like to see things for sale posted up that are related to EGL/JRock fashion, as everyone has said it helps a little in the giant world of EBay!

Considering the number of newbies posting lately about where to find items, I think auctions/sales are particularly helpful so long as they are actually EGL/EGA.

A separate community for EGL auctions/sales/trades would be cool, but unfortunately, as the moderator of this community seems to have disappeared to lj-land, there is no way to enforce any sort of rule that all such posts must go in that community rather than this one.

Why not just ban the picture ebay ads, which take up a lot of space. Maybe instead just have the URL of the seller's auctions. Perhaps with a brief summary & what's for sale, eg: 'I'm selling some egl clothing, plus issue 3 of the Bible. The clothing is UK 12-14 & I ship worldwide.' (I'm particularly in favour of that last bit - it's annoying to click on a link & find they don't ship to your country & the clothes don't fit either. If that's still too much have the summary behind a cut. That way the post will be 2 lines long at best. If you wanted to go even further, perhaps a rule saying no more than 1 post a month?
