My friend came over and we decided to do some camwhoring around the house XD And then we raided my closet, and HERE WE ARE.
Stephie is on the left, I'm on the right <3 Lolita and Aristocrat. WHoohooo. And yes, I probably should've worn a white shirt!? XD But I will do that next time, I just wanted an excuse to wear my shirt.
Enjoy :D

Date: 2004-01-11 05:46 pm (UTC)What would you suggest to make it more "lolita"? I'm curious to know so we can fix it next time ^^
*thumbs up*

Date: 2004-01-11 08:43 pm (UTC)I think it's mostly the hairstyles. ^^ My suggestion is trying a more traditionally EGL hairstyle. Like the straight look with fringe or ringlets in pony tails. The hairstyles you often see worn in EGL help create a more youthful look. Cute headdresses help too. ^^
Some optional tips:
Parasols with ruffles would also be really cute; the umbrella and battenburg lace parasol seem a little... off.. I guess the umbrella looks out of place and the parasol has a 'too mature' look to it (I'm sure the parasol could be fixed up with frills).
The plain black skirt would be really cute at about knee length or a hair shorter; then add some knee socks with lace and it'd be a 10! ^__^
For the black skirt with lace, a black blouse with white lace would match up a little better with the skirt.
I think that's about it! Can't wait to see more piccies of you two!

But yes, thankies X3

Date: 2004-01-12 06:40 am (UTC)In my opinion, Lolita is all about details details details, so the more little frillies you can pull off, the better.

As for the EGL skirt, I agree 100% with

Date: 2004-01-12 12:35 pm (UTC)I'll try seeing if I can add some lace onto the skirt on the left (I'm not sure if I can shorten it again XD)...I'm just worried it may look a bit off because it's a weird material...and it has detailing around the bottom. Should I just ignore that, and wing it? :D
And thanks a lot for the suggestion for hair <3 Next time, I'll go for the ringlets! Although, are curlers best for them? or a curling iron? And I'll see if I can try my hand at a headpiece of some sort too!
I'm sorry if I ask a lot of questions, I just like hearing different responses and opinions ^^

Date: 2004-01-16 03:03 am (UTC)The skirt... I dunno if lace would improve it enough to trouble yourself with it. Honestly if you can shorten it, try to, but if you can't don't fret over it. With the detailing at the bottom, might it be better to take it up at the waist perhaps? You'd have to gather it again and remake the waistband, I suppose it all depends on your sewing skills and whether or not its worth the bother. ^^
As for ringlets, I've heard that rag curling gets the best results. Here's a site that explains how to do it >> sitey (http://www.advance-computer.com/shirley/curls.html)
And don't worry, asking questions is good!
