Hi, lolis~! ♥ Just thought I'd share a few pics of my new A-line dress from the Meta summer sale. :3

These are pics without a petticoat. In a previous post I asked if I should wear one, and most said no. I prefer the look without one, but I'd like to know what you all think. :)

And oh yeah. I want to get a headdress or bow or something for this, and I do have a white Meta parasol that I plan to carry with it. Headdress suggestions are welcome. :3

Hmmm. I don't mean to be rude... but I think you're a thin girl judging by your tiny arms and legs, and this dress makes you look like you're not. I love the colors and the buttons/lace on it though, the tights look FAB, and the shoes! Too cute, what a great find.

That's sweet of you to think I'm thin! I don't consider it rude...in fact, I have to laugh a little, just because I'm really not. :X I suppose I should be though, what with my tiny bone structure, and yes, thin arms and legs, but to be honest, my measurements only allow me to wear shirred JSKs or the A-line dresses. I'm working on losing weight, though.

i think the dress looks cute enough without one...there might be too much volume with a petticoat.
my only suggestions are that...maybe you can find blue shoes,and a big bow headpiece,i think that would make the outfit even more adorable. :3

I second this, such a large block of color sort of asks for some balance. A large headdress/piece will probably work.

i think the dress itself is cute, but i'm really sorry i don't think it flatters you

Oh, don't be sorry! I really value all kinds of opinions and don't think it's rude. I think if nothing else, it looks all right for being on sale.

Maybe I will try it with a less poofy petticoat. With mine right now, it is far too poofy, but I'm looking into getting one with a bit less poof.

And you might be right about those shoes. I just got it in the mail, so I just thought I'd throw it on with anything!

i would actually suggest belting the dress in . . . having a defined (as opposed to a too tight) waist is always more flattering, no matter what weight! maybe you could make a pretty ribbon belt or find one for cheap . . . i've seen lots of bow belts for fall in delias and alloy and such. it's a beautiful dress, but the way it is cut irks me. just my opinion!

And I don´t think you need blue shoes...but perhaps you could find some dark blue ribbon and make a bow on the ankle straps of your shoes or something to tie in the blue?

I actually love that dress. :x A lot of people say that it makes one look...rounder, but I think it rather shows off someone's slim physique. To me, it's all in the legs, and if you have nice legs (like yourself) matched with good shoes and white hosing, it looks really good!
Maybe a white headdress? I think it looks cute alone, either way.

I had serious doubts about this dress ever being even mildly cute; Meta's picture of it on the tiny Japanese dressform with a petticoat was so unflattering to the point of being laughable.

That being said, I think you look pretty cute in it. When you put your arms to the side, it's kind of shapeless, but in the second bright photo it looks just right. If you don't go through with the belt, maybe if you have some sewing prowess, put some darts in around the underbust? A belt might look too forced, give you a cartoonish no-underbust 50's silhouette (which is cute but not that loli).

Yes, I was sort of worried when I bought it because of that picture! :X But I remembered seeing pics of lolis in the Retro A-line Meta dress a while back, and I always thought those were adorable, so I thought I'd give it a shot. ;)

It is kind of shapeless at times. :X But yeah, I love that second photo. I'm no good at sewing, but my grandma (I'm staying with her this summer) has a favourite tailor who could probably put some darts in. :3

Instead of a petticoat, try bloomers instead. That way, your underbits don't show in case of a gush of wind. ^^

I wouldn't recommend a belt; that'll throw off the look, in my opinion.

A bow or headdress that matches the dress color would work well here!

I actually like that the dress doesn't define your waist. It gives a "babydoll" sort of look. Curl your hair/add some sort of accessory and it'll be perfect! ^^;

The babydoll look really works for you (which I usually don't find the case with anyone except for stick thin tall model type people). Really cute. And the glasses... I usually don't like glasses, but you look so nice in them~

All I think that needs to be changed is... a similar colored blue pair of shoes. Though I imagine that would be hard to find. Thus I hate searching for shoes *sighs*. I like contrast, so that's why I think it'd look nice. Maybe add a cute blue bow to the shoes, and make a similar hair clip, since I think your hair looks nice the way it is, and just a little bow to the side would tie the whole thing together.

I'm kind of surprised people think babydoll works for me~ I always feel far too fat for it. :X And thank you about the glasses-- I really can't even consider taking them off, as I'm blind as a bat without them. 8|

And yeah, I agree about the shoes...I just need to figure -something- out. :) And the hair needs some work, hehe~ I just wanted to throw my dress on without any mind to my hair, and it was windy outside!
