Run the wheels
Dec. 14th, 2003 05:20 pmGah... Been wondering what kind of EGL dresses would fit a chubby 4'11 girl like me... I've got "kawaii bishoujo" features (almond-shaped eyes, button nose, small mouth) and short d.brown hair that moves in random waves and large curls. Any suggestions? I can think of tons of EGA schemes but EGL? Hard for me to think of one that can hide my knees and not make me look too short. So... Any ideas and/or suggestions? Thanks a lot in advance...

P.S. I go for dark shades. I rarely wear white (excluding my school uniform)

Date: 2003-12-14 12:17 pm (UTC)I'm 5'10". I can't imagine what it must be like to be so nice and short and cute.
I would suggest an outfit that comes to your knee where you want it to and wearing platforms of a substantial height to make your legs appear longer(kind of like Mana). If you are not overly round, a babydoll style dress can actually make your legs look longer.
You might stay away from too many frills on top since those tent to make one look larger.
But wear what *you* are comfortable with.
You will always look best, no matter what the style of clothing, in what you are comfortable wearing. ^____^

Especially when the colour of the sole is the same as the colour of the boot, I tend to find people don't notice you're wearing them for a while, they just assume you're that much taller. Especially if you're wearing a fantastic outfit and have beautifully made up hair and face. Then they spend all their time looking at the upper portions of your body and never pay attention to your feet.
You're the perfect height for EGL though, my room mate is 4'11" and she is the most adorable creature in the world when she wears it, though she has certain sizing issues to work around too. Being a little chubby won't make you an unattractive EGL, as long as you dress yourself in a flattering manner. Infact, it will probably make you that much more adorable and cuddly looking. ^.^
As said by another member, perhaps if you posted a picture of yourself, people could better supply specific wardrobe, hair and make up ideas for you. I think we're all rather eager to help out and be fashion designers and stylists for one another. ^.^ Ooooo... I think I should start that as a new post for the list: People could post an image of themselves in every day clothing, list their basic preferences of Lolita/Aristo genre, and get tips and ideas from the other Lolis! Oh! Fun! ::Goes to do so.::

Date: 2003-12-15 01:04 am (UTC)I'm exactly 4' 11" and kinda chubby. But you know what always works? Platform thigh high boots with short skirts. I don't care about the whole weight thing, but the boots keep me warm in the 12" snowfalls.
I think fishnets under boots are cute too :o)

Date: 2003-12-15 02:53 am (UTC)It's hard for me to find pretty dresses that don't make me look even shorter{And pudgier}. -sigh-
Curse the fact that most lolita-chans are so thin and tall. Model-lolita-chans... boohoo -sniffle-
But That's why I'm glad I sew... I just make things a little above my knees. It makes my legs seem less short...
Uh oh. I'm babbling.
Gotta get back to sewing dresses...
