wrong community but...
Dec. 9th, 2003 03:10 pmI figured of the people in here, somebody would know, where can I get Kana Lyrics?
I have borrowed two albums from friend, but I do not speak japanese nearly well enough to understand them.

Date: 2003-12-09 03:46 pm (UTC)These aren't translated.
I did use this page to translate a couple of her songs myself though.
She's not as big in the U.S. as some of the other jrockers so translations of her songs are hard to find.
If you'd like, I'll try and dig up my translations and post them in my journal or on here.

Date: 2003-12-09 05:02 pm (UTC)MAN I AM LOVING THEM. they are so bad and yet soo good!
her voice is so not trained at all, yet at the same time, sounds soo good. At first I did not like her voice at all, but it has soo grown on me!

1 has her in pink on it. full album her face on cover, and just about pink everywhere else there can be.
the other one is her in red, also a full album. her with a crown on. I want to know more about her. I wanna know stuff!!!!!
muahahahahah,.... i can feel a new obsession growing......

In fact, truthfully, she's my favorite jrocker.
A good site to get Kana info is here (http://www.snotcat.com/kana/).
There's lots of good info and scans. ^___^

Date: 2003-12-09 09:54 pm (UTC)I was wondering about that. while (TRYING) to find things about her online I started to question my J Rock search method and started trying J pop.
her sound is soo diffrent, but at times so popy...

Date: 2003-12-10 12:23 am (UTC)She's weird for jrock, but even weirder for jpop.
She's not your run of the mill jrock sound, but she'd definitely not pop music. Her sound is far different than Ayumi Hamasaki or Utada Hikaru. She's even far less poppy than T.M.Revolution who is often considered to be jrock, although I'm not sure why.
She appears in conjunction with other jrockers in most things you see about her and is by no means your mainstream idol singer.
Also, if you translate her lyrics, you will find that they really don't fit in with the jpop world. A lot of her songs talk about pain, loss, and suffering, albeit in an incredibly cute way.
She also appears time and again as a featured model in the Gothic & Lolita Bibles. No self respecting jpop star would appear in that type of publication. That would be like Jessica Simpson appearing in a goth magazine.
The reason you're not finding much about her online is because she is very obscure. Her cd's are difficult to find online anywhere. The only place I have found that has them is cdjapan.
The site I linked in the last post is one of the only Kana sites on the internet in English.
She's really quite an odd little cookie and a lot of people don't like her very much, but I definitely think that she's really neat. She's like a cute little pink bundle of doom and gloom. And she thinks everyone needs to have more heart, and how could anyone not like that? ^____^
