hello everybody, im kinda new to the community and have noticed a little drama occurring.. i hope all the disputes are soon resolved and in the meantime i have also noticed some of you are looking for egl patterns. i dont know if everyone knows about this already or where you can get it.. all i can tell you is that it exists..

(sorry for the size and cropping of it.. im retarded when it comes to computers)

more pictures here: http://people.ucsc.edu/~epaulsen

i found it at kinokuniya (san jose) but havent seen any more copies since ive been there.. it was very cheap (only $13.20) and had directions how to sew all the pictured dresses. what was even more amazing about it was in the back there was a pull out of all the dress patterns to trace.

I hope all of you can find it if you dont already have it! i'll keep my eyes open for other copies if anyone is interested.

Hiya!
You can buy that book at http://www.j-list.com for actually pretty cheap ^^ Its a good book, but definitely not for larger sizes, and *definitely* not for anyone who can't read Japanese! x.x (Would also be good to have a pretty good idea about sewing as well. *nodnod*)
Though thanks for sharing ^^

yeah ^^;;; especially for people like me with no japanese anything for miles. ^^;;
The shipping is really good there. For a heavy book and a small obentou, the shipping was not as bad as I wouldve thought. ^^

it's alot more expensive to buy it from j-list(including shipping)
you can just go into kino and ask them to order it in for you (no extra charge)

I have the book but I never figured out how to use the patterns
I need to learn how to read japanese

If you look at the instructions for the piece you want to make, they have each piece numbered. All you have to do is find the numbered pieces on the big multipattern and then follow the alteration instructions. Ack, this is more of a showing thing. But yes, knowing how to sew really helps. I can't read Japanese at all, but I've been able to make a lot of the stuff in the book.

I sort of know how to sew
at least my way and creating havoc on my overlocker and sewing machine

There was this one dress pattern that I was trying to find
I look for the numbered pieces and like one of them did not match up
to the one shown on the side (the little preview images)

Would they allow you to order online within Europe? You can get that book from otaku.co.uk too.

I don't know how to read any Japanese and I made a skirt out of there. (I'm a size 11 and the extra large size fits just fine. So if you are plus sized none of the patterns would fit) Also you could find english patterns and make clothes similar to those in the book. But it would be really nice if someone could translate the whole book online. ^_^

japantown has gothic and lolita bibles!!???!? can you get to japantown using BART???

Yep, when I was there last week they had issues 5 through 10 of G&L Bibles (about 15 of each). I think the price was something like $18.50 per copy. Not too familiar with BART since I live in the No. Bay but I'm pretty sure it will drop you somewhere in downtown. BTW, Japantown is off of Geary.

Japantown spans the area north of the Geary Expressway between Fillmore and Laguna Streets. The Kinokuniya bookstore is located on the second floor of the shopping center at 1581 Webster. Sun-Sat 10:30AM-7PM. Hope that helps!
