While the Japanese post was very quick to deliver my copy of the Homemade Gothic & Lolita pattern book, unfortunately the ability to comprehend seems to have been left behind. >_<
I have no clue how to figure out the size charts or how to figure out what pieces are what on the multi-pattern or anything, really. I'll be seeing my grandmother to work on the specifics of construction from the patterns; she knows zero Japanese the same as me but she's been sewing since she was a kid, so I figure she can figure out the details. But could some kind loli explain the basics of this thing to my confused, ignorant little self?

with the size chart just match up the words to the words in the diagram above.

Then with the pattern sheet they should all be a different colour. Match up the colour to the one on the side (but I'm not sure because I've only made one thing from it and it didn't use that sheet).

That's about all the help I can give you. Took me ages to work out how to make the thing I'm making... just don't give up and keep on looking and ask other peoples advise :) you'll work it out eventually.

With the size chart the numbers are in centimeters. It's pretty straightforward, just have a calculator on hand if you don't know the metric system (like me u_u)... On each item in the B&W section it will tell you the number of the pattern it uses, so you match it up with the ones on the side of the big foldout pattern sheet. Most of the items use other patterns, just variations of them, so there aren't as many as it would seem like there should be. Also, when it shows you in the B&W section what pieces you'll need, there sometimes will be some they don't have a pattern for (it's either the shaded pieces or unshaded, I can't remember and I'm too lazy to get up and go look in the book ^^;) Those are usually big simple pieces you have to measure and draw out yourself. I don't know why they do it that way but it's rather annoying!
