[identity profile] clarice.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] egl_archive
As the community mod hasn't chimed in (is she active in this community?) I'll play list mummy; here's basically a summary of all the comments on my last entry:

No one has ever liked the ads (ranging from mild annoyance to pissed-offy-ness) but no one has ever said anything because they didn't want to sound bitchy or figured it was only them.

This pretty much describes me, too. So, please, the community members (at least those who post frequently and decided to reply to my post) DO NOT like these ads. If y'all need a community that will be more in line with what you want to post or are interested in, we've had several offers of new LJ codes.

I always wondered who was the mod of this community! Does anyone know if she still posts?
I think it is a good idea to have an auction/shopping community, although in the case of [livejournal.com profile] fruits and [livejournal.com profile] fruitsyauctions people still post auctions on [livejournal.com profile] fruits occasionally and i always have to end up deleting posts and asking them to post in the other community. It has got a lot better recently, as i think people are more familiar with the rules now :)
I always wondered when someone would speak up about all the auction posts, so thank you for doing that! :)

*Applauds loudly*

Thanks for saying what people like me did not have the gall to say!

I know that a lot of lolis consider politeness part of the package, but geez! Politely saying that you'd prefer not to see off-topic auctions or auctions period isn't rude, it's honest. Nobody speaking up has allowed the community to slip to this point.

The moderator of this community appears to be moonfullofstars, whom I don't think I remember posting in here at all since I've been here. Her journal hasn't been updated since mid-June. Perhaps someone could politely email her and suggest that a more active member take over mod-ship?

I missed responding the first thread but wanted to chime in and agree. At a minimum, ebay pics should go behind a cut. As others have said, I dont mind the occasional link to actual egl auctions -- even if I don't intend to buy, I like to see the pics and keep up on prices. I think it might be too harsh to ban auction links altogether. However, regular ebay sellers posting on this list fall more into the realm of commercial advertisement.

perhaps those who wish to post auctions should post all the information and photos under an lj-cut tag? that way people who are interested in seeing them can take a peek and those who are not can skip over them

not everybody hates them

again, this is an old post, but I am going to speak out and say
I LIKE THE ADD'S.
so I am in a minority, okay, I can deal with that.
I'm not the most active in the community, i accept that.
but I do not mind the Add's and I just wanted to voice up and say that not everybody hate them.
i do understand why people do, but as I said on last post, sometimes they give me ideas for my own clothing.

just had to speak out, now that I am catching up on old entries.
