Hello, I've been lurking here for some time but now I have a quick queston that I thought maybe some of you could help me with. Yesterday my copy of homemade gothic and lolita came in the mail, and its wonderful. However, I can't understand the sizing chart on page 42... If anyone can help I'd love them forever?

From left to right, these are the measurements. Look down the chart and find, in centimetres, the number that's closest to your measurements. It corresponds to that body part. In order, these body parts are: (Here's my attempt to make a chart- the numbers go Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large)

Bust 76, 82, 88, 94
Waist 60, 64, 70, 76
Hips 84, 88, 94, 98
Top of shoulders to small of the back 37, 38, 39, 39
Waist to hips (standing) 17, 18, 19, 20
Waist to butt (sitting)- upper thighs 25, 26, 27, 28
Butt to knees- lower thighs 63, 67, 70, 70
Arm length, elbow bent 50, 53, 54, 54
Wrist circumference 15, 16, 17, 17
Height 152, 158, 163, 164

All of the numbers are in centimetres, and obviously you'll need to adjust if you're any taller/wider/bigger than these. The best thing you can do is take your own measurements and then expand the patterns accordingly. agitatorswaltz came up with a good way of doing this- you take the side of the pattern you're working with (say, waist), and tyhen instead of cutting out the pattern exactly, trace it onto paper, add as much length as you need, and then continue tracing as it normally goes.

thanks so much for your help, I doubt I could have figured it out on my own. I'm lucky, I manage to fit into a M/L on these patterns. The book is amazing! Ill post if I manage to make anything pretty! ^_^
