Mainstream store lolitables

1.) Victorian style boots. Have you noticed them in any of these stores : Target, JC Penney, Sears, Macy's, Filene's, Payless, or any store listed here? After too many hit or miss experiences and losing a bunch of money on return shipping, I'm not shopping anywhere other than Zappos.com for shoes unless I know from prior experience the fit the brand has. And while there are a few pairs of Victorian-ish boots, they're a bit expensive and I want to see if I can get them somewhere locally for cheaper. Unfortunately I don't have a car and no one who'd give me a ride would want to let me do much browsing -_-.

2.) Opera length black evening gloves that will fit very small hands and are NOT crushed velvet or that obviously cheap and synthetic polyster costume fabric? Just a nice matte black to wear with a certain outfit.

3.) Offwhite shoes for an aristocrat. NOT cutesy lolita shoes. More mature ones that aren't too modern. I'm in love with all the ivory that's around this season and want to make gothic aristocrat outfits all in ivory. (Gasp! Goth without black, with almost white even! But but... ^_~) I probably can't afford a second pair of the Victorian style boots.

A while back, I noticed some very nice Victorian-style boots at Sears. (The lacing was all for show, though; they had very well-hidden zippers on the inside ankles. I'm not sure if you'd find that acceptable...? ^__^;)

I can't help you with the gloves, but you might want to check bridal stores for off-white or white, mature-looking shoes. Perhaps the gloves would be there as well?

For the gloves, look in the accessories or dressy sections of department stores or trendy girl's stores. I've seen gloves like that plenty of times, but they're glossy and a bit formal-looking, so I don't know if that would be ok with you. I've never seen black matte gloves in that length, unfortunately. Perhaps you should just make some?

I've been out shopping a bit these last few weeks and I'm reasonably sure that either Macy's or J.C. Penny's has the Victorian granny boots. I'm in love with them. I've seen them several places, and I think that they were in at least one of those stores, but I'm sorry that I can't give a positive ID on the store. I didn't see them at Target or Payless, Sears may or may not have them, I can't recall. They're definitely around though. Hope that was at least somewhat helpful.

As for the gloves, I'd love to find a pair like that, but I've never actually seen them anywhere. Sad.

I got the cutest victorian like boots from www.newport-news.com. They have lovely stuff in the winter collection, which is being phased out for "hippy spring" (#boo#)

The bus routes are really spotty and VERY confusing (I think I could get there but the routes are so fucky I can't figure out how and I think it involves two changes and a long ass time for a trip that takes like 15 minutes by car), and trains don't really help much. Our public transport is pretty crappy.
