I tried to post this earlier, but apparently I just put it in my private journal, so... yeah.

Here's the ugliest picture of me EVER. This is what I was wearing that night in Harajuku where I got the Gal's boyfriend to stop and oogle me and say "Kakkoi na!" much to his girlfriend's displeasure. (see previous post from a few days ago.) The cape and skirt are Mari's Rock, the tank top is Old Navy (XD), the socks are Baby, The Stars Shine Bright and the shoes are mine from when I was 13. The headdress was handmade about 7 hours before the con.

Told ya to avert your eyes... -_-;; This was taken about five minutes before I left for Shoujocon, because I wanted a picture before my hair died. Too bad I didn't have enough time to actually pose or make sure I looked decent. And I forgot to put hide plushie in here...

Hope the post goes through this time!

~Callie

It's -not- hideous, and you're -not- ugly. It's really quite cute!

/IF/ I can ever find a pic of me from Otakon, I'll show you something -hideous-... but then, finding anything to fit my 6'3" frame is a dicey proposition at best. Near as I can find, the Japanese firms don't believe the sizes even -go- that big. :p

There's also a teeny tiny weight problem... one that's being worked on diligently (and sometimes OVERworked, and I wake up like I have today o.0). I've got some very definite goals in that area, but have been on a campaign of burning any pics folks take of me until I'm closer to a reasonable form. My current housemate is a talented seamstress... she made the dress I wore for AnthroCon and Otakon this year, and the corset helps some...

But I dislike looking like a house. :p Anyway. :p

I -have- found that certain sites, like (http://home.att.ne.jp/theta/pare/), give enough pictures from enough angles that she can reconstruct it and upscale it for me. I keep hoping that they'll add a rough English translation of the page, but again there's the issue of sizing; Japanese sizes require more 'explaining' than they probably want to have to do. Ah well. I'm fairly certain the pricing for something in -my- size would be exorbitant; I just can't picture them making something in a 34Tall. :p

*hugs and quits rambling*

The oldest of my younger sisters and I got 'blessed' like that. I'm 6'3", she's 6'1", and the 'baby' is 5'4"... and we hates her, yessss, my precious. :)

It's my Da's fault, I figure. Mom's only 5'5", but Da's 6'6". :P

Why is it most short people think being so tall is a blessing? The clothing problem I can live with because if you can't find what you want there's learning how to sew. It's finding cute shoes that drives me up the wall. Seems most designers think a womans feet stop grown at about a size 9.

I can blame it on my dad also, he's 6'3" and my mom is 5'2". At least I'm shorter then my brothers. :D

No clue when it comes to the 'blessing' part. Shoes are a particularly nasty sticking point, too; but I've discovered that (http://www.payless.com/) is my friend. They carry up to a 12W in a lot of their styles, which suits my needs for a 12M just fine (yah, I got that blessing too, courtesy of my Da's size 15 stompers). The prices are decent and for the most part the styles are current.

But it leave me in the cold for -anything- fancy. And I just don't have the $100+ to throw at a pair of shoes. :p

Thanks! I haven't been in there for about a year. I quit going after I realized that a pair of boots I loved stopped just before they got to an 11. :(

Yeah I see your point, I always have to get things off the shelves for my mom. But we never have to hem out pant legs because most pants are made for girls of average height (5'4"-5'7") and are capris on us. XD

If I want a decent pair of pants that fit me perfect it's about $60.

It's not always like that, though. My mom is 5'8" and my dad is 6'3", yet I'm only 5'3", so sometimes genetics does odd stuff... My 14 years old sister is 5'9", too. And I know exactly what you mean about having to jump, too.
