Aug. 23rd, 2003 03:16 amokay, here's a project i've just finished this morning. take about 10 yards or plaid that's been sitting around my sewing table, add a pinch of wanting a dress i can't fit into, stir in some inspiration, and voila! a complete outfit i can incorporate and interchange with my other styles. pictures are below, enjoy! ^__^

dress info: i used simplicity pattern 5872 as a base and just added lengths of fabric to make the skirt of the coat/top. after that, i altered the sleeves a little bit and added a ZIPPER the front instaed of buttons! ^^; i know it's cheating but i didn't want to do buttons =p the skirt i did free style with pointers on how to do the zipper attatchment from homemade gothic & lolita sewing book. easy as pie but was hell to design. wanted something fancy but just opted to go simple. would've looked good with a petticoat if i had one. ^_^ tie based off of the book but messed up. winged my way through that too. headpiece i made myself. the blouse is lane bryant/veniza, shoes from bongo.
material cost: around $70 all in all
time on project: 72 hours non-stop @_@; (i think i'm cross-eyed now!)
okay, time for me to have some well-earned sleep. nighty-night....
