Am I posting too much?
Jul. 29th, 2003 09:38 pmHas anyone ever heard any of Kana's music, what's it like? Why does she have cred? I read this: "I have heard Kana described as a "female Kyo, "female Ryutarou," and "the offspring of Kiyoharu and Hamasaki Ayumi," with "the voice of a dying cat." These observations are actually pretty accurate, because Kana is definitely not too musically talented. Her songs are actually more mainstream than most songs you might find in visual kei culture, but only probably because she doesn't write them herself. Her singing voice is very nasal, high-pitched, and weak, and does bear a very strong resemblance to the voice of Ryutarou from Plastic Tree. She also can't seem to stay in tune no matter how hard she tries."
Nevermind, I found some webpages...

Saying she has the voice of a dying cat is, in my opinion, an excellent description. I suffered my way through 6 Kana songs before I broke down in horror and shut off the player. x___x And this is coming from a Dir en grey fan, too. I don't think her voice is very much a "female Kyou" either.

Date: 2003-07-29 09:23 pm (UTC)But it was old school traditional japanese folk singer.
And I remembered a play I was back stage for.
The lady playing the intruments also sang a short song based on traditional japanese singing which she had gotten training for... sounded like Kana's style.
I think Kana just sings in a way she's been trained to. In traditional vocals.
I personaly think she could do so Better at the transition. All the women I heard were MUCH more skilled then Kana,
but she has promise.
