Has anyone ever heard any of Kana's music, what's it like? Why does she have cred? I read this: "I have heard Kana described as a "female Kyo, "female Ryutarou," and "the offspring of Kiyoharu and Hamasaki Ayumi," with "the voice of a dying cat." These observations are actually pretty accurate, because Kana is definitely not too musically talented. Her songs are actually more mainstream than most songs you might find in visual kei culture, but only probably because she doesn't write them herself. Her singing voice is very nasal, high-pitched, and weak, and does bear a very strong resemblance to the voice of Ryutarou from Plastic Tree. She also can't seem to stay in tune no matter how hard she tries."

Nevermind, I found some webpages...

Kana's about as far from a female Ryutarou as you can get. For one thing, she's bad at staying on key. *blinks*

Tarou's voice is distinctly childlike - as though his voice has never grown up - which Kana's voice is not.

Saying she has the voice of a dying cat is, in my opinion, an excellent description. I suffered my way through 6 Kana songs before I broke down in horror and shut off the player. x___x And this is coming from a Dir en grey fan, too. I don't think her voice is very much a "female Kyou" either.

I love Kana-chan. She's awesome! Hmm though, it's hard to TELL you what she sounds like. You sorta have to listen and find out for yourslef. ^^;; Some of my favorite songs are "Momo" and "Toraboruuta". The best thing I can tell you is to download some of her songs and see what you think. ^^;;;

I love Kana!! My favorites are Anzen Pin and Chimame. I'm highly biased by her videos though which are very strange and full of stuffed panda torture @_@

No one will ever accuse her of having a great voice but she does have style.

Kana's charm is not the same as a Jpop singers. She DOES sing on key, its just not the key you expect. I think she's very talented, and expresses herself in a very cool way.

I was under the impression that she wasn't even *trying* to hit the right keys...that she means to be off key a lot of the time. I like the sound of it a lot. It's hard to explain, but sometimes when a singer sings off key in just the right way (whether intentionally of just allowing their voice to go where it wants) that in itself seems to be artistic. And she seems to pull it off.

So far of all the Kana songs I've heard, I've only disliked one, but loved all the rest.

That's the lovely thing about Kana. She IS akin to a dying cat, and we all love her for it. She is one of the top models in the EGL industry, and designs some pretty spiffy stuff as well. I think her music is done for her, personally (not that I have spoken with her or know her intentions). But I enjoy it none the less (hell, it's something *I* can stay in tune with!)
She is actually very reminiscent of classic Japanese songstresses.

Submit to the rule of Kana ^_~

I was in a resturant one day and I could have SWORN I heard Kana singing.
But it was old school traditional japanese folk singer.
And I remembered a play I was back stage for.
The lady playing the intruments also sang a short song based on traditional japanese singing which she had gotten training for... sounded like Kana's style.

I think Kana just sings in a way she's been trained to. In traditional vocals.

I personaly think she could do so Better at the transition. All the women I heard were MUCH more skilled then Kana,
but she has promise.

Well, let's just put it this way. I'm *not* in love with Kana's voice. She has style, a cute panda, and so on, but as for a singing voice that gets you far in the current industry, nah. *shudders* I listened to as many of her songs as I could and left them on my computer for a while, often showing them off as "the worst singing I've ever heard" (others agreed), but I finally broke down. They're all deleted now. Gone. Poof! In my opinion, a silent lolita is better than one singing like she just got an arm ripped off and was beaten near unconcious status with it. Ick. No offense to those of you who like her! She is a good model after all ^^

I downloaded some Kana out of curiousity. In the one song I listened to, her singing voice reminded me of Siouxie's, actually.
