Myu! A little while ago (a week?) someone offered help drafting patterns for Alice dresses... I meant to email, but never got around to measuring my torso length, or something. (Bad me! >_<)

Anyway, I'm in a crafty-curious-adventurous mood tonight, and I am attempting an Alice-y poofy-sleeve top... myu myu, girl-who-offered! Want to give me tips on the shape of the pieces?

I hate making tops. *shudders* Big boobs... so, I am forcing myself to learn them, and how to do sleeves and darts correctly. *nods*

a simple way is just to take a cap sleeve pattern shape and add four inches to the very middle (just a rectangle of fabric basically) then gather the shoulder end to fit the armhole and gather the elbow end to whatever size you want and sew on a strip of binding.
after you manage this you can alter the shape of the drafted piece to produce the results you have in mind.
