Question about USA Customs
Jul. 12th, 2012 09:15 amI recently bought a dress from a seller in Germany for 162 euro. However, I forgot to ask her to ship the item as a gift and mark down its value. What are the chances I will get hit by customs?
Thank you!
EDIT: Thanks for the information everyone! ^^ Since it was my first big overseas purchase I was a bit worried, but now that I know that the likelihood of getting hit by customs is very very slim, I feel a lot better.

Hey everyone! Recently, some members have been experiencing a particularly long wait to get sales posts approved for the
egl_comm_sales. While we do have a lot of mods who are in charge of the sales comm, the unfortunate truth is that sometimes there are times when none of them can get online, leading to some particularly long wait times for posters. Luckily, we actually already have something in place so that users can completely bypass the queue, but it seems like many of you are unaware of it! If you want instant posting privileges to the sales comm check out this post on:
It's actually really really easy to get (certainly easier than waiting!). Pretty much all you have to do is have made 3 perfect posts in the last 18 months, have at least 3 positive feedbacks, not have had a warning in the past month, and not have been banned for any reason. While this describes most of the members who use the sales comm, only a handful have ever bothered signing up for unmoderated posting!
Unfortunately, due to scammers, spammers, and people who have zero interest in using the comm as it's been designed, moderated posting is here to stay, but we definitely encourage every single person who knows how to use the sales comm properly (which is so many of you guys who are still waiting for posts to be approved!) to apply for unmoderated posting!
So if you're tired of the wait, check out this post about unmoderated posting! The link for it is right at the top of the sales comm page

Is this a replica?
Jul. 12th, 2012 04:32 pmHello :)
I'm going to a few meets next month and found a dress which I really like on taobao. However, it looks really familiar. I can't figure out if it's because it's a replica or because I have seen someone else wearing it?

"Alternative" Lolita
Jul. 12th, 2012 06:22 pmI know this subject has been brought up before, but it's been a while. How do you feel about lolitas with facial piercings, tattoos, or hairstyles that are "not lolita"? (By that I mean dreadlocks, mohawks, cyberlocks and the like) I usually see it around more with punk lolita styles, but I've also seen sweet lolitas with sweet tattoos I think are adorable! Do you have links/photos you want to share?
Personally, I really love seeing modded lolitas, even though I don't have any bodymods myself. (Unless ears count!) I believe facial piercings actually accentuate a person's features rather than detract, but that's just me. Thoughts? As for the hair, I currently have dreadlocks and am wondering if there are other lolitas out there who like to rock this style? ( Pic under the cut )
(Also, if interested I've created a new blog where I'd like to discuss more about it, feel free to submit photos if you want! F Yeah Alt Lolita. It's in its infancy stage for now.)

Hello everyone~ Tonight, I'd like to ask you all for a quick favor on behalf of my boyfriend ^^;
He is currently doing a bit of data collection for his Market Research class, and has (so awesomely!) chosen to look at the popularity of printed garments within our subculture. If you wouldn't mind, it would be really sweet if some of you could take this super short, 10 question survey about yourself and your feelings about printed garments within lolita fashion. The survey is completely anonymous, and is to be used for educational purposes only.

Thank you so much!
