Hello ^___^I'm new to EGL ^__^;;

I just kinda came up with this because I know of no other lolitas in central Florida -___-;; and I'd like to meet more.

In the upcoming two to three weeks I wanted to plan a lolita picnic for the lolitas of central florida. It will probably be held at Lake Eola. You can e-mail me if you want more information. You can feel free to bring fellow lolitas and aristocrats as well! ^___^

Tonight (if I have time!) I'll be putting up a few more auctions for headdresses and a heart-shaped velvet purse.

I also thought I'd share this dress I'm working on. It's not totally finished, and still needs to be ironed so the lace isn't going in every direction ><;; The sleeves are detachable. It's going to get a ruffle around the bottom and a big bow in the back. Tell me what you think of it, or what you think should I add/change. ^^

Hi, I'm Steph, just joined this community (I haven't posted to my own LJ since May, and am just now starting to miss LJ, and wanting to find fun communities, etc.). I don't dress in EGL much, mostly because I don't have much EGL-style clothing to wear. (which isn't to say that I don't have a ton of fabrics and supplies for making dresses, etc... I just don't have time to sew as much as I'd like.) At any rate, as you may be able to tell from my icon, I rather like the color green, and have green hair. I pretty much never see any green EGL stuff online- usually white, off-white, red, black, pink, and sometimes blue or lavendar, but never green! So, I was wondering if anyone on this list knows of any online stores that sell anything EGL in green. I know there are sites you can special-order from, but it would be nice to see a picture of the actual product in the actual color. So... just wondering ^^.

And on a completely unrelated note, I have really long hair (it goes down past my waist and is pretty much straight), with no bangs or fringe. It's always hard to figure out ways to wear my hair other than really simple things like.. a braid. Heh. So, if anyone has soe suggestions for styles for long hair that would look good with an EGL dress (and possibly head-dress), it would be nice. Usually, I just wear my hair down with a ribbon tied in a bow as a headband, but I'm getting a little bored of that.

I'm new to this community, as well as the other Lolita ones I found and/or my friend told me about. I'm not a hard core Lolita, that's probably a bad thing since I'm never hard core for anything and it always gets me into trouble. I just think the clothing is so adorable, and once I find something that comes in my size (the bust sizes are way too small!) I'll attempt bidding. Until then, I'll just look at all the pretty clothes and wish I was shorter and better looking to actually wear them.

Hello, my Loli dears (and those who are just plain-ol' dears)...

Many apologies for those of you who will see this more than once, I've cross-posted it in the_needle_room and egl.

My best friend and I are trying to start a Loli design line of our own, and while we've got sewing machines, fabrics, and trims galore, we've also gotten a big problem: the need for a nice dressmaker's form to put our creations on, not only for photography, but also to help with some of the hemming and trimming out. Do any of you use these yourselves, and if you do, can you make any recommendation as to where to buy one from, as well as how much we can expect to spend? I've just returned from an excursion to eBay, and I'm absolutely overwhelmed by all of the measurements and model numbers...

Also, what measurements (bust-waist-hips) for the dress form should I be looking for? I was hoping to get something that's about an average size, but I'm not sure what that is, exactly.
