Japanese shoe sizing is a pain.

Does anyone here own shoes by Metamorphose or Baby, The Stars Shine Bright? I need some help because Japanese shoe sizing is a bit wonky.

According to all the regular international shoe conversion charts, I would wear a Japanese Woman's 26-26.5 (US Woman's 8-8.5). BTSSB and Metamorphose, like most Japanese brands, use S, M, and L for sizes. I own a pair of BTSSB Mary Janes that fit well enough and they are size L. According to their site, "L" equals 23.0-24.0. @_@ I'm completely lost! I want to buy a pair of Metamorphose "L" shoes but I don't want them to be too small!
