Jul. 14th, 2003 03:50 amhello!
just wanted to mention that i just added myself to the community. ^.^ i've been into EGL for less than a year... actually it was accidental (randomly picking up Elegant Gothic & Lolita Bible vol 4) and i'm happy that i did. so hello!
also i was wondering... i haven't picked up EG&L Bible vol 9 yet... but from the last vol... i thought the patterns weren't too great. is it just me or does it seem like the patterns arn't so great as the ones in the earlier bibles? ummm. i hope that made sense. it's really late in the evening. ^.^;;

sewing help? ^^
Jul. 14th, 2003 01:52 pmVery odd questions... ^^;;
First one.. would anyone know where blackberry print fabric might be? This is a tough one to find. @_@ If I can't find blackberry though, my next will be blueberries.(I can't go for the cute strawberries and cherries, namely because red outfits dont go well with red hair ^^;;)
Second one.. anyone have luck with a very basic dress pattern? I tried looking for an adult Alice in Wonderland costume, something with a waist and plain front. I can only modify my existing patterns to a small degree because Im so novice at sewing ^^;;
Any help would be so much appreciated. ^_^

Origins of "Lolita"
Jul. 14th, 2003 02:14 pmFor you educational use. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
The word "lolita" came from the novel called Lolita (writen by Vladimir Nabokov), which was about the affair between a middle age (perverted) guy who feel in love with a 12 year old girl named Lolita. Someone with the "lolita complex" is a person who is a pediphile (admires childern sexualy). Someone who acts like a child or has the mind of a child has the "wendy complex," which came from the story Peter Pan. Sometimes it can be confused with the "lolita complex."
By dictionary definition the word "lolita" is
"A seductive adolescent girl"

Jul. 14th, 2003 03:15 pmEDIT: I ended up moving the victorian shoes and the kinderwhore dress over to my eBay account.
Keep an eye on both accounts for more stuff soon!
Alright, I've been trading and selling things online lately sort of randomly through livejournal, so I finally started to try my hand at posting formal auctions. I don't know how some of you girls do it, but the tedium of preparing and listing this stuff is kicking my little lolita butt! Photographing, measuring, formatting. Gah! So frustrating!
As a result, I've only got a few things up on gothicauctions.com for now including a few pairs of shoes [8 US], a pink petticoat [pink's just not my color] and a couple of loli/loliable dresses.
Depending on how things go I'll either switch to listing things on eBay or add more things on GA because it's free.
I've litterally got a ton of stuff to get rid of so trust me, there will be lots and lots more coming. Bloomers, slips, more dresses, square dance items, blouses, toys, lunchboxes, all kinds of stuff...
If you don't have a GA account and want something that hasn't yet been bid on, let me know and either make me an offer or ask me to list it on eBay.
Thanks lolis!
