Welcome to my first wardrobe post in 9 years!

Hi everyone! This is my first wardrobe post in nine years, so please check my previous post if you’d like to see how things have changed. I’m likely moving this year after living in my cute 1920s apartment for nearly 7 years, so I’m using this as a way to kind of memorialize my first post-college apartment. I also am really into creative organizing/storage ideas, so I tried to get a lot of photos of how I store items too in case that’s of interest for anyone else.

Apologies in advance for not steaming anything! My current closet is pretty packed, so things get wrinkly in there. I promise I steam everything before wearing them! I also apologize for the iffy lighting with some photos. Portland, Oregon is pretty dark and cloudy this time of year so I tried to work around that as best I could. <3

Now let’s dive in!

First, here’s my current closet that stores my lolita and other pastel/“fun” clothes. 1920s buildings frequently have these deep, relatively narrow closets. When I moved in this closet had shelves at the very back and nothing else. I added a standard cheap clothing rack on the right, a clothing bar above it, and a shelf above that for purses. On the left side I added two sets of wall hooks for flatter bags. The back shelves then hold sweaters. It’s a tight fit, but really made this closet functional and everything can be easily removed when it’s time to leave!

Here it is! As you can see it's getting a bit cramped. I'm ready to move somewhere bigger lol.

Dresses:

Angelic Pretty Carnival OP — This dress is my all time favorite and one of the ones I've owned the longest! You'll notice throughout this post that ponies/carousels are my favorite lolita motif and this is my favorite dress of all. I'm also excited about the Sugary Carnival re-releases to get those ponies back into my wardrobe again!

Baby, The Stars Shine Bright Hawase Doll OP — HEED MY WARNING! Do not hang dresses with elastic shoulders on hangers! I've hard this dress for about 14 years and hanging it has made the shoulder elastic totally give out. It's replaceable, but it's tough because I don't trust most seamstresses with such an old and special dress. Once the pandemic ends I'm going to work on finding a good seamstress to bring her back to her old self. <3
