Does anyone know where to get a sewing pattern for a tuxedo with tails?

For about two years now I've wanted to make one and it occurs to me that perhaps EGL shoppers may know.

Can anyone help me?

You can modify any jacket pattern to add tails, there is frequently a box pleat in the middle of the tail. I'll look through patterns for you though.

If memory serves swallowtails button at front but regular tail coats don't THough possibly it might be the other way round. I'll see what I can find, but there is so much tailoring involved that patterns will be difficult as nobody wants to bother making them. It seems that on my vintage tail coats (which I don't have at hand) There are pleats in the tails, to add some fullness and movement.

Try getting the Amazon Drygoods Catalogue. From what I remember, they don't have much of a site, but you should be able to search it and at least get a phone number where you can order a catalogue. It has authentic patterns from every era imaginable, and some very good victorian era womens and mens patterns, which should include the tailcoat.
