Strawberi Cinta
Jul. 21st, 2014 11:36 pmSo I was lurking the internet for some new movies to watch, and I came across this Malaysian movie called Strawberi Cinta (which is "Love Strawberry" in English?? "Strawberry of Love"???????? eh ) and the main character is supposed to be a Japanese tourist who also happens to be a Lolita. And eh... she came out looking kind of ita.

As far as I know, this is the first time a movie outside of Japan has made an attempt at making a movie with a Lolita as the main character (correct me if I'm wrong?). And I can kind of tell they based her totally off anime "uguu" "kawaii desu" stereotypes...

The story itself is fine and everything, but I wanted to know what you all think of the "Lolita" part of the movie. Do you think it's good other movie industries outside of Japan are starting to acknowledge Lolita culture, or do you think they shouldn't have done it without knowing anything about Lolita besides the common anime stereotype of it? This wasn't supposed to be an angry post or anything, but I was just wondering what all of you would think!
Also sorry if this post doesn't come out right, it's my first time posting anything on livejournal e-e
