Guys at meetups or events

I have recently come across a quandry that, after a search didn't reveal anything recent or too useful, I thought I would ask everyone on here.

I am turning 21 this year and my boyfriend wanted to do something special for me. Completely of his own volition he managed to find the Tea Party's information on their up-coming 6th year anniversary event in London and wanted to buy the VIP tickets for him and I as my present. He knows that this is a big deal for me as I missed out on the JetJ event last year due to other commitments (his 21st birthday present from me) and so is really eager.

Issue is that as this is a lolita event, it'll be mostly girls and the last thing I want is for any of them or him to feel uncomfortable. He will be wearing kodona/dandy/guy-style (whatever the term is, I forget) but still I worry. Also, he offered to leave me for the day to attend the event on my own but I have social anxiety and this'll be my first time meeting anyone outside of the internet.

My questions are these: Would it be strange for him to come? And are there likely to be other guys there? (Also, as he'll be getting VIP tickets and those come with a goodie bag, it's totally cool for me to steal all his loot, right? Haha.)
