Coordination help?

I've been out of lolita for a little over a year. So I'm super rusty and confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)


Like I said, it's been a while since I've been in lolita. When I started out almost three years ago, I was into sweet. But my style has changed more to goth. I'm planning an order from Bodyline, to get a dress, shoes, and socks. I really want to get them in black, since I've been finding myself really missing lolita but not wanting to wear any of the pink stuff I have. And with a friend having a Halloween costume wedding, I figure it would be the perfect time to get some more lolita. 

I plan to be a Gothic Lolita doll. Mostly since my friend's family is a bit odd and wouldn't really understand the concept of lolita, so I could just tell them I'm a doll without having to really go into detail. I'm really wanting to go with dress L087 in black since it's so simple yet still beautiful and elegant (And because I've wanted it ever since I laid eyes on it). I'm going to get black shoes (either shoes152 or shoes192, but I prefer shoes152), and I'm at a loss at what kind of socks to get. I don't really want all black, since I don't want to do Kuro. My boyfriend suggests that I use black and white or black and grey stripped socks, since he thinks it would seem much more doll like. I have Boyline socks 404 in mind for this. If I threw in some black and white accessories, like a cameo necklace, and a few more cameo objects or white rings/bracelets, would it match well? I don't really think I'm good at making coords. If these wouldn't match well, what kind of socks would you suggest to help me stay away from Kuro and maybe add some color? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
