Outfit Advice: How can I tone this skirt down?

I really want to order this skirt, but I want to make sure I can wear often enough before I do!

I realize it is a fairly formal skirt, and pretty much the only color I could wear it with would be black. But I'd like to get some opinions on how it could be toned down, if it could be toned down, so that I could wear it more often.
I want to try wearing it with a black, long sleeved cutsew with a peter pan collar, and turtleneck type cutsew with layers of knit lace at the neck, would those be too casual for this skirt?
I'm afraid it can only look good with a fancy, high necked blouse ;__;
