So, i want to get another little discusionre:

(outside of the egl bible) What patterns is everyone using?

How do ou go about finding whatever patterns to make EGL clothes

give brand and numbers whenever possible

The style of this jacket is *very* similar to many Lolita ones. I think it's adorable and suits the look quite well.

Ohhhh yeah I've been drooling over that pattern for a while. But I guess early summer isn't really the time I need to start sewing a heavy coat. :)

There's a Mrs. Santa Claus pattern from some company, maybe Buttericks, which at first glance looks -perfect- for an EGL coat but when I picked up the pattern at the store it turns out it was really like a capelet over a long sleeved dress... so it would be a good pattern for a capelet but not sure how it would work out for the full coat.

I'm new to this group, but i've been into egl for a while. have you tried looking thru the Fruits book for pattern ideas? the egl girls in the book are wearing pretty plain patterns but you could always use a pattern from a different outfit.

I use Butterick patterns...haven't given me any problems yet, but they're expensive

I draft my own patterns. That way I don't have to fuss with clothing that does not fit (wich happend a lot when I used commercial patterns).
