Lolita fashion design project

The final "exam" in my fashion design class is to design our dream outfit. You can guess what mine is-a loli dress! The issue is, we have to explain the outfit's inspiration, and the scenario that we would wear it in (wedding day, traveling, etc).
How on earth do I concisely explain what Lolita is without having my classmates immediately jump to conclusions? There are no lolis at my school (yet!), and my teacher had no idea what I was talking about when I showed her my sketches and some Baby/AP pictures.
I'd appreciate any suggestions!
