EGL Inspired
Jun. 6th, 2003 07:34 pmI don't know if this would be considered EGL enough for this community so I'll put it behind a cut. If anyone has any problems with it, I'll erase my post.
Anyway, I had the inspiration to make some egl stuff since it's so hard (and expensive) to get. So I found some fabric in Wal- Mart's $1/yard bin and sketched out an idea for an outfit. It took me about three months to make because I'd work on it and then work on a cosplay costume or the like. But between lace, ribbon, fabric, and patches it cost me under $10. Not too shabby :). I even made the "crinoline" underskirt and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I only had a pattern for the skirt (which I modified with the slits). Everything else was winging it by observation :).
I wore this to JACON 2003.

It's too bad you can't see it, but there are tiny lady bug buttons on the dress too. Here's a better picture of the headband where you can see the cherry patch:

And on the apron:

Oh, one other thing I forgot to add. I'm selling some boots. I know the Fruits community has a special board for this but I didn't know if the egl had one. Anyway, if this doesn't belong here I'll remove it.
I have a pair of white knee- high lace up platform boots I was going to put up on Ebay but I thought I would give you guys a shot at them first.
An Okay picture of them:

I only put them on twice, once to try on and another time for about 10 minutes inside. But being white they have little smudges here and there. I can send a better picture to describe what I mean. They are a size 5 1/2 and a bit narrow (the toes are more pointy than the boxed off toes a lot of shoes have). Anyway, I paid something like $28, I'm putting them up for $15 plus $5 s/h (they're pretty heavy). If anyone is interested, email me (ladyume@excite.com). I can do paypal, that's probably easiest.
I work until 1am and then I'll be off line for the weekend so you may not get a response from me until Monday night.

Date: 2003-06-06 05:21 pm (UTC)Those boots are great... I could work those into being pretty close to my idea for a cosplay... but sadly, I am not that size. ;_; Good luck with them, tho!!

Date: 2003-06-06 05:56 pm (UTC)And you simply must tell me where you got your shoes! ^^ That is absolutely ADORABLE and you're VERY pretty~ Are your eyes naturally that green? I'm envious!
Re:
Date: 2003-06-06 06:08 pm (UTC)I got my shoes off of Ebay but there's a site that sells them *goes to find it* Here (http://www.jadedminx.com/dynamite-09.html) are strappy versions (there's also herehere (http://www.electricchair.com/Product.cfm?ItemNo=2444) are slides versions. And while I was looking I saw these (http://www.electricchair.com/Product.cfm?ItemNo=2464), not the same but I htought you might like them. Hope that helps :).
My eyes are naturally green, but they're more like an army green. I just bought regular ole green color contacts. I guess because my eyes are green to begin with they get ultra green.
