I noticed that people have talked about Moon Afternoon here before. I recently bought some things and wanted to make a short introduction/review. Moon Afternoon is a small indies brand located in Japan. Their clothes range from Classic Lolita to Pink House style. The designer also creates smaller versions of her clothing designs for dolls like Blyth through the label Berry Berry Tea Time.

I ordered the low-waist velveteen JSK and a pair of bloomers. The JSK is one of MA's signature pieces. They offer a cotton version for wear during the warmer months. Usually construction of the velveteen items is limited from October to February.

This is listed as Jumperskirt 1 on the website for 13,000yen. Depending on the design, you can choose the length as well as colour. So, for this one, I requested the dress to be lengthened to 98cm instead of the regular 90-95cm so that I can wear it in the REALLY COLD Canadian winter. There are several colours you can choose from including black, ivory, . This JSK here is in the purple velveteen. The purple is almost like bordot but is darker and has more blue than red tone. The two ribbons at the side can be untied but are not removable.

This is what it looks like worn:

I was not used to the low waist at first, but as I got more used to it, I found that it is very comfortable and easy to move in compared to high waist or "just waist" JSK designs. I feel that I can dress up or more casual with this design.

Some more photos:

The velveteen is of good quality, probably on par with or above a brand like Angelic Pretty and Baby, the Stars Shine Bright but not on the same level as Jane Marple. I dare say that I like this velveteen a little more than the one BTSSB seems to typically use. The dress is gorgeous, and I'm really happy that I decided on the purple velveteen as I don't see it very often. The dress is lined and very warm.

The second item I ordered was a pair of Drawers #30 for 6500yen. You can request the length of the drawers. I asked for 60cm. I really love these drawers! They are the most comfortable ones I own compared to the ones I own from Innocent World and Fairy Wish. I am usually very sensitive to elastic even if I am well under the max measurement, but these don't make me feel uncomfortable at all even after extended use. I look forward to ordering more of the drawers in the future.

I do not sew myself so I can't offer very in-depth feedback on the quality of garment construction, but I feel that these are very high quality items and will last me a long time. All in all, I am very satisfied with my order and look forward to buying some more items for wear during the warmer months.

Previously, during a Lolita sales event in Osaka, I also purchased a summer dress from MA featuring a strawberry print. I have all my spring and summer clothes put away at the moment, but if anyone requests, I can take it out and take photos and give a brief review.

About buying from Moon Afternoon, I'm trying to help the designer set up a way to sell to people overseas. If you are interested in purchasing their clothes or doll clothes in the future, please leave a comment here. Even if you aren't, please tell us what designs you think are cute!

Moon Afternoon is a one woman operation so she only opens for a limited amount of orders every couple of months. The next time she will take orders will be in May because of the various sales events that are going on in the months in between though she does have a webstore for the doll clothing set up.

Anyway, I hope that was helpful for you! If you need more information, please let me know!
