When shopping for these boots I had trouble finding reviews for IW boots, so I would like to share my experience with them, especially regarding the accuracy of the color and sizing.

This is for the Victorica Short boots from here:

I am also looking for an opinion about whether the enormous, oversized calves look stupid on me.

Communication and shipping:

I placed my order on February 3 and immediately received an automated email confirming my order details and address.

The website had a note that they were very busy with Winter Sale orders, and I may have to wait a week for further follow-up.

On February 6 I received a Paypal invoice. The invoice explained that after I paid, they would send a shipping notification but not a payment confirmation email.

I paid February 7 and received a shipping notification on February 10.

They were sent via EMS and I got the boots on February 14. (I had to pick them up from the post office because I wasn't home to sign for delivery earlier in the day).

Packaging:

I was very satisfied with the packaging.

The boots were in a big box:

Inside was a white shoe box and a free catalog:

A note and receipt was included:

The boots were stuffed with tissue paper and foam, and wrapped in tissue paper:

---------
Accuracy of color:

I felt the boots looked cream and brown in the stock photos. In real life they are actually beige and brown, not cream and brown. It will make it a little harder to coordinate.

It is difficult to get a color-accurate photo, but the true color is even darker than my pictures show. Here is a comparison with a cream skirt I own:

The boots are still very pretty, but not the exact shade I was expecting.

-----
Overall quality:

They are faux leather. However, they are very soft and high quality, and look like real leather. I am very impressed with the quality, except for one weird bulge:

The stitching, scalloping and bows are even and straight. The little metal studs are a nice touch.

The boots are also well-made and comfortable.

---------
Sizing:

I ordered the L size (for 24.5 cm). I have a 24 cm foot, and wanted to allow a little space for socks so I ordered a half size up. These boots are a little loose on me, so I think the sizing is quite accurate. The foot portion should be perfect once I add in a comfort insole.

The calves of the boots are very generously sized. I expected them to be a little big because most boots are loose on my legs, but I did not expect them to be this big.

I even tried to put jeans inside to see if I could wear these casually, and they are still rather loose.

This is not really Innocent World's fault, since they do list the circumference of the boots on their website. However, I suppose I was hoping that was just the top of the boots, and that the ankles wouldn't be this loose on me either.

There are no laces to adjust the sizing. These boots are zipper-only.

----
Summary:

Communication and shipping: 5/5
Quality: 4.5/5
Sizing: Very accurate

I think these boots are very good-looking and well-made, however I am concerned they will be unflattering on me because of the calf size.

I bought this colorway because they look like old-fashioned spats and I could also wear them for Victorian or steampunk.

Does anyone else have a problem with loose boots and have advice? Do people think that boots should be "tailored" the way well-fitting clothing is, and oversized boots do not fit with the lolita aesthetic?

I am still trying to decide whether to keep these. Thanks for your opinions.
