Sewing Post: Embroidered skirts
May. 21st, 2010 09:40 pmJust wanna share my recent projects. After doing commissions steadily, I wanted to make something new and perfect for summer. I was originally going to make it as a plain white skirt, but upon completion, I saw that it was too plain and un-interesting so I decided to embroider it to add a splash of color.
Summer Rose Skirt

Commissioned Three Tier Skirt
This was originally commissioned to me but I somehow messed the measurements and ended up with 26 inches length instead of 24. I made another skirt for the customer with the right measurements and kept this one for myself to repair later.
This was the skirt I remade for the customer
The first two tiers have equal length while the 3rd tier is longer
This is what I ended up with after I made the 26 inch skirt shorter. I cut off 4 inches from the first tier to make it shorter. Length is now 22 inches.

Victorian Birdcage Skirt
The skirt is made with red velveteen with gold embroidery thread. The design is from emblibrary. It is fully lined w/ side zipper and partial elastic at the back. The back is pretty plain so I did not take a picture of that.

The black x silver version is embroidered all around
Thanks for looking.
