Umm... arty^^;; What exactly are you wearing? Is it a veil and a headdress or a hat or what? I guess it's kind of EGA, in a way... I think veils and mourning hats go with that very well.

it's two big bows so big that they look like a hat :). and they have little veils coming down from it so it also doubles as a veil sort of thing. pardon me, but i'm not quite sure what EGA stands for. elegant gothic something? or is it something else . . .

EGA stands for 'Elegant Gothic Aristocrat", which is the version of the gothic & lolita fashion that is more like adult's fashion than children's fashion. Long skirts, tail-coats, top-hats... that sort of thing, instead of little girls dresses with ribbons and bows.

I'm feeling a bit vexed because I couldn't find you any links to her work...I suppose that she is not really well known. A friend of mine bought me a monograph of her work 6 years back at an erotic shop. If she has a damn monograph, ya'd think she'd be mentioned somewhere in cyber space...Her work *is* erotic-but not pornographic-and focuses on nude-or semi-nude female form in feathery costumes, in vintage pieces, playing dress-up in these gorgeously decadent 19th cent settings-with pearls-tulle-and netting over thier faces--she even took picture of her pubescent daughter in the same way which got her into a bit of trouble, I suppose. I don't think that her work was ground breaking or even seen as "high art" perhaps, but I think her eye for playful female sensuality with borders between the natural and the costumed is really amazing...
thanks for the compliment on my icon. I wish I could display the series of photos I took when this one was taken because they were done in this elevator with these horrid lights which cast a really erie pallor on everything...plus the outfit was great--sort of a little-bow-peepish-with a petticoat and my severe victorian boots. I also played around with domestic activities when all dressed up because I liked the incongruities of say, waking the dishes in full EGL-I also took some pictures with these skis in the elevator which looked odd...if I knew more about posting pictures I'd put them up but don't you have to have a website for this stuff?
