What anime would you associate with EGL

also, are there any anime that have characters based on EGL as opposed to the opposite way around

Hey, does anyone ever notice how many Video Game/Jrock references and plugs there are in Parakiss, or is it just me? o_o

XDD Isabella~!! Ah, isn't he just SO Mana? I adore him so much! I also love Miwako and Arashi (Arashi reminds me of Kyo from dir en grey, and George reminds me of Gackt)

Well, I've only read volume one, but I'll tell you what I saw in it. You know the little 'fun' sections in the back of each volume? Well, in the first one there's a Yellow Monkey poster on the wall behind Miwako. Then she dresses as Ulala from Space Channel 5 and dances, and.. damn, there's something else too. I know she plugs the magazine Zipper, but I was sure there was something else there... Ah well!

^^; Hope that helped..?

Oooooo, I was going to ask if I could add YOU! ^___^ Of course you can add me, and I'll be sure to add you back! =P Wheee, a new friend!!

^.^ Oh, I'm all bouncy now! =D I love Miwako - she makes me wish I was shorter, so I could wear cute outfits like hers (I'm about 5' 4")! *sigh* I need to get more Parakiss..

Stuff by Kaori Yuki like Count Cain, and some Angel Sanctuary characters.

Some characters from Matantei Loki Ragnarok, including Loki himself *it's so cute seeing a little boy with antique style clothes*

... And I can't think of anymore. But I've seen CLAMP getting into it more often, especially with chobits. Some of their newer series show hints, and Cardcaptor Sakura had a few EGL-esq style clothes.

The manga Othello (by Satomi Ikezawa) talks about an girl who is not accepted by others. Ans she wears really cute EGL dresses. In fact, it's because she's a fan of a visual band who is called Juliet and, she does cosplay. Her "friends" will know that and laugh at her... There's a link because I don't manage to explain the story ^^'''

Anything by Mihara Mitsukazu (manga-wise) and almost all CLAMP works.

Hanajima in Fruits Baskets dresses very gothic lolita in both the anime & manga although her style is more aristocrat than lolita. Kisa has also been seen wearing some very loli-esque dresses.

My daughter is a big Chobits fan, and I'm slavishly copying one of the outfits for her costume this Halloween! Chobits is definately EGL to me.

Actually, I'm making the time and patience because my daughter isn't lucky in so many other things in her life.

deffiantly chobits and Parakiss (My current favorite manga)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Card Captor Sakura. Alot of the dresses from the artbooks are very lolita. It was my first encounter with "lolita" before I even knew what the style was.

Digi charat too, deffinatly lolita

some Kamikazi Kaito Jean manga pictures are sorta lolita too.

More Manga...

You've already mentioned some anime, but there are some more manga that are gothic lolita too..."K no Souretsu" my Kusumoto Maki! I swear that Mikaya is the splitting image of Ryutaro from Plastic Tree (or was it the other way around?). Also, "Kiss XXX" is apparantly even more gothic lolita, except I haven't read it yet... She's really popular with a lot of visual kei artists.
Um, there is also this one called "God Child" by Yuki Kaori. Volume 5 of that manga is for sale (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3222820254&category=1345) on eBay right now...
