Three Questions.

Which One?

Yeah, I love all the corset style lace up tops out there with maybe some light plastic boning, but I want a REAL one. I'm torn between this corset or this one. The first one I like because I adore the hourglass look, the second I love the shaping of the top and bottom. I usually do "whatever's cheaper" but they're pretty much the same price.

Where to find?

Anybody know of a chain craft store or online site that sells [plastic] cameos? I'd like to buy a few to glue onto some wide black ribbon chokers.

This site here has AMAZING corsets! I've got one of mine from her a few years back, and it's still in amazing condition after wearing it quite a few times! The boning she uses is the metal links kind too! :)

That site is out of my price range (Gallery Serpentine's prices are in Australian dollars, woot for the exchange rate). Plus the size corset I want isn't a standard size-- given my natural waist size and the cinching ability of Gallery Serpentine's corsets I'm buying a 20" corset.

I'm leaning towards the second one too. It's just more... elegant. I'm liking the straight cut of the first one less and less.

I like the second one, and it should be able to give you that hour glass similar to the first one. My problem with pointy underbusts like the second one though is that I have little in the way of boobs, and if the point comes up between them, then I really look silly. Just something to consider. But if you have a large ribcage (again, my problem) the short cinchers sometimes don't work either because they get 'stuck' under the ribs, and then you look silly as well. arg. corsets.

as to cameos, I've seen them at craft stores in the area, try michaels or a jo-anne fabric. I also pick them up used at thrift stores all the time, plastic ones are not uncommon at all.

Oh... I hadn't thought of that... I have barely any boobage, so it probably would look really funny unless I had on a megapaddedsuperpushup bra.
I have a small ribcaged... but I'm starting to really not like the straight lines. Oh the dilemma.

Their corsets do look very nice, but outside of the ready to wear ones they're completely out of my price range. Even the read to wear waist cincher would cost me $50 more than one from Gallery Serpentine... before shipping. With shipping it would be even more of a difference.
Their waist cincher does seem to be a perfect cross between Gallery Serpentine's Waspie and their Underbust Victorian, though... I'm just not sure it would fit me properly, given that although they have the waist size I want, I'm not built like the average female. :/

Do you or someone you know have a corset from there?

i do...and I have acquantinces from there...if you have any questions about their corsets (which are built to last...believe me) i can probably get it answered for you...

i emailed them inquiring about the sizing of their ready to wear corsets; if it would fit me properly i *might* buy the standard size waist cincher... but i can order a custom sized corset from gallery serpentine for less.

Living in Australia, I've had the oppertunity to try on some of Gallery Serpentine's corsets before... boy are they nice*_*
I personally prefer over-bust corsets, and they have some really nice ones, but if you're really skinny they probably wouldn't do much for you. Go for whichever you think will go with the outfits you want to wear with them... the second one looks more comfortable if you're new to wearing corsets, though. Gallery Serpentine's ones are hard, so you'll need to break yourself into them. The good thing is that you won't break them, so they're worth the money^_^

I've apparently got the "ideal" EGL shaping : quite short, rather thing, barely any bosom. It's a fashion that was designed for me. ...Unfortunately the rest of the fashion world doesn't seem to use me as a model. Heh. So yes, an overbust corset would look silly on me, as there isn't really anything for it to push up.

These are the sort of things I've heard about Gallery Serpentine's corsets that made me decide to go there... I was wary because the prices were so much lower than many of the other sites, especially considering the exchange rate, but I've yet to hear anything negative.

I'm leaning towards the Victorian Underbust corset... I'm just wary of it looking funny with a point that comes up between my barely there breasts.
