O-ha, minna-san!

I've got a couple of quick questions:

I need help styling my wig, and I was wondering if somebody could give me any ideas on how I could style it? >/ Any help would be much obliged!

Also, I plan on making a head dress, and I was wondering what you all prefered to use as material. I plan on making one, but I'm not sure what kind of cloth to use.

And finally, is there anywhere I can get patterns for lolita clothing? I can't access the GLBibles and was wondering if there were sites I could find. I tried looking, but I came up with dead ends and porn sites.

Thank you all! ^^ I swear I'll have good posts next time. o_o;

hm.. i've seen a few regular patterns that would work, with a bit of altering. particularly ones for kids' costumes.

I agree, there's lots of regular patterns you can use, just go to any fabric store, and look through the pattern books with a bit of imagination to what they might look like in different fabrics and colours. Some examples that I have: Simplicity 8851 has skirts, petticoats, bloomers, capes; Simplicity 7206 would make a great base pattern for a Baby the Stars Shine Bright style dress; McCalls Junior NY 3803 has a nice lacy shirt; Vogue 7215 has a cape-type jacket that would look great in black with white fur trim. Those are just a few that I have, there's lots more. Good luck!

You're welcome! ^_^ I love fabric and pattern shopping. Fabricland is having a sale, and I really can't afford to go, but it's pulling me, like a magnet...

about the wig -
since it's synthetic - don't use heat!!!
generally what I do (I work in a costume shop so this is a usual thing for me)
is wash the hair first with shampoo
then I brush it out while it's wet.
Let it sit out to dry.
when it's almost dry and a little damp -
put it in curlers and hairspray your little heart away.
Let it sit untill completely dry.
Do not use hairblowdryer.
That usually works.
