Since I live in Norway, and have a very low budget, I have been forced to make any EGL accessory I need myself. Not so bad, really, as I've discovered that I like sewing. My first project was to make a headpiece, which I'm quite proud of, especially since I haven't sewn anything since grade school. I'm fairly new at the whole EGL thing, although I've loved the style for a long time.

However, it keeps falling of my head. Kind of annoying, as I can't actually move my head while wearing it. So I was wondering if any of you had any hints on how to make it make it stay on my head. It would be most helpful...

That ribbed ribbon (grosgrain?) or velvet ribbon will tie up tighter if it keeps slipping off. Other than that, try pinning it to your hair with clips or bobby pins. Sometimes you hairstyle can help too, or you can loop the ribbon behind your ears.

I've had very bad experiences using stapleguns, so avoid using those.
