Hello all! Due to the difficulty of finding a complete guide and resource on how to use Taobao and shopping services/resellers to obtain items from Taobao, I decided to make a blog on the matter.

(Fake cut to my blog's Taobao FAQ)

Of course, the blog/FAQ is not complete at all. I tried to give a quick answer to most questions newbies might have, but I will make posts with further explainations when necessary.

My reason for sharing this on here is that I would love to have feedback on this FAQ as well as suggestions to improve it (questions that could be asked, details that could be added to some answers, etc.). Any kind of input will be gladly appreciated and taken into consideration. <3 Thanks for your attention.

(Also, if you see grammar mistakes, feel free to point them out: you are even encouraged to do so since I'm very conscious of my limitations due to the fact that English is not my first language.)

I've compiled a list of all the current informative lolita video (whether they be amateur or professorial) on the internet. I am only including news pieces or documentary within this list (ie no vlogs). I've separated the videos by the country they were filmed in, to make it easier to view them and find them within the list.I found quite a few videos that misrepresented lolita fashion and I chose not to put them within this list. I hope this will help a number of lolita whether it be for research or entertainment purposes.

How to tie a Bow Scarf/Tie/etc.

Upon the reaction to someone asking about tying bows on the waist, I finally mustered up the confidence to post a tutorial on how to tie bows in general to attach to horizontally or vertically oriented things. (i.e. attaching a bow to a hair-tie/clip would be horizontally & tied as a scarf or on a tree trunk would be vertically)

I'm passing on a cute and possibly useful bow making tutorial I saw on the Flasco shop blog.

They have 2 different tutorials for different bows: small neck ribbons and larger waist ties. I knew the first one but I'm going to have to try that second one out!

Hello everyone.

Lately there have been quite a lot of lolita-themed blogs sprouting up...and fast. I have seen/read some concerns as to whether they are being created for the right reason, and in rare cases by the right people! After thinking about what to say and (especially how is this relevant to lolita), I thought it is time to do a different kind of lolita blog guide. A PUBLIC one. Also, I'm not trying to discourage anyone from starting a blog, but making sure newbies know what to expect when they think about starting a blog.

McCalls M5619 (need to draft a properly shaped skirt, but the sleeveless and short-sleeved tops are perfect!)

What I lolified... The Japanese Tea Ceremony

Sliding in after June 1st here, but I wanted to participate!

These pictures were taken a year ago, but posting them now for fun =D My friend Wendy (LJ-less) and I took a class at our university about the Japanese tea ceremony, called Chanoyu (or chado or sado XD). We thought it would be fun to lolify it since the tea ceremony is all about rules and propriety and somehow fits with lolita!

We aren't lifestyle lolitas in any way - this was just kind of an inside joke for us but maybe you can enjoy it too.

I recently received the magazine featured in an ad in the "Gothic & Lolita Bible: Ensemble" (Cover is in this post). If you don't understand any Japanese, I must say that the cover is rather misleading. A friend told me it's like seeing a Playboy magazine with Carmen Electra on the cover and the inside is filled with Rob Schneider.

I scanned the parts of the magazine that would be relevant and helpful to this community.

Seeing that there has been a lot of craziness lately on this community about commissioner / buyer roles & responsibilities, I wanted to combine a post of tips & tricks for when commissioning. nessaneko 's tips from a while back are great for selling, buying, and shipping.

However, I want to organize a thread of just things specific to commissioning from a non-local seamstress. So here are some tips I've learned from the buyer's end. Everyone, please feel free to add your tips to this thread!
