Coordination Help

I'm branching out into some color other than black and white, so I'm in need of a little help with the accessories.


(Face hidden 'cause I'm without make-up and didn't want to fuss with my bangs.)

I just bought and recieved this lovely, BtSSB JSK. I had thought that the ribbon trim was black, but it turns out it's navy blue. Will black accessories still look okay with the navy? When I tried it on for the pictures, I thought it looked all right, but I'm just not sure! In the summer, I want to wear it without a blouse and with white accessories, but during the winter, I'd like to wear darker colors.

I was thinking about something like this (especially since I already own everything except the cardigan and socks):


Would it work, as long as I'm mixing more black into it in the form of the cardigan and socks?

Also, as you can probably tell from the pictures, it is a tiny bit short. Is it *too* short, or would it be a good idea to wear an underskirt? I'm wearing my least poofy petti here and I have really big hips, so I don't know if there's even room for an underskirt. And as I've never needed one before, how does one go about choosing the right underskirt? And which color would be best to match it with? White? Black? Navy?
