Your opinions~
Feb. 10th, 2008 12:01 amGood day dear egl. I'm an apprentiseloli, and my first attempt at loli was made of epic and fail and sadly enough at that time I was happy and could not see what was wrong. Luckily I have since learned much, but I am still a bit insecure about my thoughts so I come here to ask your opinion. I just recently bought some treasures with me from Tokyo, lovely loliable fabrics, and now I'm trying to decide what do with them. Since I can't just go and buy sum more I want to be sure of what to make of them but I'm still a bit puzzled. Here are couple of thoughts, and I'd appreciate your opinion on wether they are smart or not.
I have this light yellow ice cream-fabric that I thought might make a nice (millefuoille?)dress. I was toying with the idea of making the bust with singlecolored fabric too. I also might add a ruffle at the hem if I have enough fabric, or, if I make the bust with white/pink/blue I could use the same fabric in the ruffle? I just can't decide though, so I'd like to hear other opinions on what might look the best, and if it'd need some changes. The pattern that I'd be using actually has a straight bust(not ruffled), so that's possible too, but somehow this ruffled one appeals to me more. Maybe some nice thin lace in the bust and a small bow in the middle under the bust?

I also have this pink cake-fabric, that might be good for the design, but then again I'm not sure I'd want two dresses with the same pattern... Any ideas how I could use this one? I don't have vast amounts of it, so I can't do anything with large ruffled skirtparts. Maybe if I'd gather the hem like in the lower pic(blue aliceskirt)?

Then there's this blue alice-fabric that'd make a nice skirt, and I though this might look nice? With the white petticoat showing, and portions gathered to pleats like this. Do you think it'd mess up the print too much? If it'd be horizontal it woun't go at all, but since the print goes vertical I think it might work?

Thank you in advance for your input! ^_^ I kind of think I'm heading for the right direction but I need some reassuring on this before starting.
(This might have been fitted for egl_sew also but since it about the design and not tecnichal advice I thought I could post here.)
