Amaloli dress photos!
Aug. 24th, 2006 12:01 amAfter many nights up until two am stitching on lace and ribbons, I finally finished my first amaloli dress. So it was off to the cakeshop with my boyfriend and a camera...

Warning - image heavy for those on dial-up.

I like the corset lacing, even though it was fiddly to sew. Lots of little ribbon loops make Vanessa's fingers hurt.

*shock* A lolita drinking coffee instead of tea. It was still nice n_n.

These cakes were very yummy. Mmn, lemon tart and almond cherry pie. The cake shop's name was Dorothy, on Cuba Street (for any New Zealand lolitas) and it also has lots of wonderful chocolate.

This isn't a parasol! I was afraid it might rain, so I took my pretty pink umbrella, which I found at a $2 store.
I found the fabric at a store in my hometown while I was on university break. I like it so much I'm actually going to go back this weekend and check if they have any more. It's a kind of stretch cotton with pale pink and white stripes. The dress has three different kinds of lace, half of which I sewed on by hand. What can I say, I'm neurotic. My fingers hate me for it >.<
The sleeves are detachable just below the puffs, but I didn't take them off because it's still the middle of winter here, and despite the sunny day it was still cold. I need to make a white cape to go over this n_n I also made the headdress and collar to match, and the Hello Kitty charm necklace is from Asakusa, Tokyo. It was a cellphone charm!
Please excuse my black shoes and bag; I'm saving up for some white ones, but pretty fabric stole all my moneys.
