By the way, I've been going back through some of the posts and I noticed that my friend Usako posted some of the images of our Dia de los Muertos Loliday up on the list. I would be the Aristocrat in the long DollFlesh coat. *BIG* Thank you's going out to Candy Cain, I saw that you are part of the community ^.^, for the *excellent* coat. I recommend her to everyone! \^o^/ That Orchid's Black Ink Military coat is probably my favorite item in my wardrobe.
Other, played-with pictures of the Loliday can be seen at Los Muertos if any of you are interested in viewing those at all. ^.^
I've also noticed that you've been discussing sewing projects on the list? Some sort of 4 week project period? Well, I wasn't part of the community in time to really know what that was about, (though the different sewing projects I've seen around here are *very* lovely and impressive) but if I may be a little vain I'd like to point out that I sewed the skirt and blouse worn by my room mate, Miki, in the photographs. (She's the shorter girl with no sort of headdress or anything.)
It was quite an interesting project to tackle, as I made it from the Gothic and Lolita Tetsukuri book. It was rather frustrating as at 4:00 am in the morning, as I'm working like mad-last-minute on this thing, I realize that the bust is not going to fit my roommate! I had to wake her up in the wee hours of the morning to measure for adjustments and cut whole new pieces! The measurements in that book were rather misleading in this case I fear. ;_; But disaster was averted and the garment was ready to wear by the Loliday. ^.^ I'm rather proud of it too, if I may be a little boastful in saying so...
And, as a final note, I'd very much so like to meet the Los Angeles/Southern California Lolitas and Aristocrats of the community. I've a 6 setting Royal Albert tea set begging to be put to use and I'd love to be able to invite some new friends over for tea some time! ^.^
