I tried, I failed, I made a headpiece instead, I found a mini top hat three days after I had already worn the costume that I wanted the top hat for. So I'm going to make a new costume just for this lovely little top hat. I say if you are unsucessful you should buy one. I found mine at the Teddy Bear Workshop (it's this store that's in a lot of malls now where you stuff and dress stuffed animals) and I love it to pieces. It cost 6 bucks and was part of a magicial costume for the teddy bears but all I care about is the little velvety hat...

I called it the Teddy Bear Workshop, but it's actaully called the Build-A-Bear Workshop and here is a link to the actual hat http://www.buildabear.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=9&Product_ID=1092&CATID=3 I think with a little lace, ribbon or perhaps a fake flower it will be perfect.

It's 7 inches across at its widest part and slightly over 3 inches tall.
